I realize that Kelly has received countless commendations from delighted clients, but I, too, want to give credit where credit is due.
I communicated with four major USA dealers when considering the GK1. This commendation for Kelly does not imply that the other dealers were deficient. I am confident that the other three dealers are excellent. Rather, Kelly provided extraordinary service, far above what a dealer needs to do to qualify as a 5-star provider.
With Kelly, here is what I received:
- Unmatched expert advice. He has been a Hubens dealer at least since 2018. His knowledge is encyclopedic. This expert advice is helpful because there are numerous possible permutations to consider with something like the Gk1. For example, would one want to run the largest range of pellets possible, or would one prefer to run slugs?
- Timely advice. Once communication has been established, Kelly goes above and beyond with timely responses. Even when I assured him that he could take his time, he most often responded very quickly. My personality is highly detailed. I know this. So I am self-aware and will limit my questions. Even so, Kelly was excellent in answering every question I had. He would often throw tidbits into the dialogue that I may not have considered.
- Extensive knowledge of aftermarket parts, such as the best Picatinny rails, loading gates, and mods needed for some of the aftermarket parts to function better.
- Relaxed service. Hubens is not his primary source of income, so I never felt that he had financial pressure to make a sale. Everything was a low-key, 'no pressure' conversation. He feels more like a genuine enthusiast than a salesperson.
- Depending on needs, Kelly may have some secret sauce to improve performance that may not be accessible to other dealers.
- He is also happy to preshoot the gun at his home 'range' and set the power to specific pellets at a specified speed so that the gun is shooting at the buyer's specific power right out of the box. For newbies to the GK1, this is helpful.
- His sale included additional freebies, such as a carbon fiber rod to reverse pellet jams, a complimentary fill port plug, a free moderator adapter, and free 2nd-day UPS air shipping. This last one is an expensive service, and he provided it even though I asked to save his pennies and just ship ground. I have not encountered another dealer that provides this level of exceptional service.
- Future service. In my conversations and research, I believe that Kelly is likely the best repair person on the Huben rifles and pistols. Purchasing a gun from Kelly provides one with better access to future help in repairs if needed.
The above are off the top of my head. I'm sure if I put more thought into this review, I can probably come up with more flowers for Kelly. One final note, he never suggested that I post a review anywhere. This is entirely voluntary on my part.
