I lived in florida for 14 years mostly on the west coast, Sarasota county and Tampa. I also hunted extensively in central Florida ranging from the Ocala area down to Arcadia. Compared to other states I have lived in including Virginia where I now live; there seemed to be a fairly large rabbit population in Florida. The cattle ranchers, grove owners, and produce farmers were very enthusiastic about allowing pest hunting.

Due to the longer warm seasons, I recall having to be more careful about rabbit parasites. Rabbit Hunters Take Note: Steps to Avoid Tularemia[/QUOTE]https://www.outdoorhub.com/how-to/2...ers-take-note-steps-to-avoid-tularemia/embed/

Side note- the feral hog hunting opportunities throughout Florida is fantastic!
