I’m getting a Hawke 4-16 X 44 scope.Need advise on flip caps. How about Vortex ? They look like they would be better at weather proofing than the metal Hawke ones .
I used Hawke medium tactical rings to mount that scope on my HW95L which left less than 1/8" clearance for the objective lens where flip caps may not fit using medium.
I use the Vortex caps on all of my scopes, like em a lot and they have the same lifetime warranty as the scope. If it breaks, it's replaced. At $20 a pop, they aren't cheap but they ARE Made in USA unlike Uncle Mike's!
LIFETIME WARRANTY.
If you ever have a problem, no matter the cause we promise to take care of you.
They flip up no problem, ya gotta push them over from initial open to lay them flat against the scope (they don't need to but they are well outta the way when flat). You'll need to know the approximate diameter of the ocular and eyepiece in order to get the correct ones. They fit tight, yet have a short diameter range for each one.
