Fisher cat hunting

Does anyone know if it's legal to dispatch a fisher cat ? 
There is one that has been snooping around my property and our cat is been missing for a while .. 
I have a Benjamin trail np XL 1500 
it delivers 25 fpe approx .. The shot would be from less than 25' 
do any of you fine air gunners think this would be sufficient and are there any tricks to baiting it out to shoot the prick ?

You would need to look at your state laws and see if there is a season or if it's legal to dispatch them as nuisance animals. Sorry about your cat, I hope it comes back. I don't know much about these as they aren't in my area, but by size and weight I think your rifle is plenty powerful enough for 25 yards and closer

That would be enough FPE with a very good head shot. They are tough bastards and don't go down easy. Here in Vermont you are allowed to shoot them out of season only if you have proof they are attacking your livestock. The only season for them is trapping.
