First Time Out With Wildcat Compact

Well my first time shooting my Wildcat was a pleasant experience. I had it zeroed at 25 yards before I finished my first magazine. I did notice that the first shot I took seemed slightly under powered. I don't know if that's normal or not. The second and all subsequent shots hit the backstop with much more authority. I was able to hit the 6' steel gong at 150 yards with ease when shooting between gusts. All in all I'm happy with my purchase. I'm going to be working on reducing the squirrel population in my area all next week as time permits. Hopefully I'll continue to have good luck with my first PCP.

Reg creep will cause the first shot or two to be a bit slower than normal. When the reg pressure increases the valve gets harder to open resulting in a slower shot. Reg creep isn't a huge deal, as long as you don't mind taking a couple shots to reset the pressure... I think that is why most are swapping to Huma regs. Congrats on the new gun!

I had a feeling that's what caused my first shot to seem weaker. I'm going to be experimenting with my rifle for the next few days. If the factory regulator starts to act up I won't hesitate to swap it out with a Huma.

I'm assuming that it's a .25. How many shots are you getting before a refill?

Love mine. It is a first generation though.

Yes, it's a .25. I'm getting right around 30-32 shots before I need to top it off.
