Mike (Centercut) and I were out this morning. Sun was out getting warm and about 9:30 AM. We both found squirrels but it was spotty. Ended up with 16 confirmed and a couple of probable. We only recovered the three shown but both of us commented on how big they all were. These three were all females and appear to be pregnant. The biggest fattest we have seen.
Mike is claiming these three should push his count from 11 to at least 22. As we were sitting arguing the count we heard the damndest noise. It sounded like somebody beating a big bass drum. “Jose” our kind landowner, walked around the front of Mike’s car laughing about how many pups each squirrel was carrying and chased a big old chicken away. The front bumper was all scratched up by this mean old bird and we told Mike that was a warning about trying to stretch his count.
