Have a gun that's been sitting a while? Perfect! Pull it out and show us your first shot on paper/fur/feather/steel/etc.

Or it could be your daily shooter. Show us the first shot you took today.

Can be any airgun - rifle/pistol, any caliber, CO2, springer, multi-pump, PCP.

Target can be any distance.

Let's see some one hole (One shot) groups! 🎯

Include a picture of your gun.

Some Guidelines:
  • List your gun make and caliber
  • How long since the gun has been shot
  • Distance to target and POA (point of aim)
  • Projectile type, weight and velocity
  • How the gun is supported (bags, bipod, offhand, etc)
I'll start.
  • Taipan .25 Shorty resting in a Standard stock
  • Last shot 2-3 weeks ago
  • 75 yards to target. POA - center of red bullseye
  • 25.4 JSB at 870 FPS
  • Front and rear bags

Took forever to find the little SOB but I finally did. Beeman Crow Mag .20 @ 32yds shot from a front bag with support hand under the rear at my shoulder, last shot maybe 2 days ago. 1/2" dot I think?

Edit: Got bored. Same gun, same position, last shot 45 minutes ago, moved to a 1" target at 50yds. Rough guess on the hold with a duplex style reticle

Yesterday at 5pm maybe. I try and shoot every day, and I rotate rifles so its never long. My pesting rifles get checked often,
18 yards (Thats its zero for bird feeder protection)
FX 16 grain 880 FPS
Front rest, Wiebad Range Cube rear

18 yards (checking with reactive under bird feeder)
FX 16 grain 514 FPS 9 FPE (This is with the low transfer port setting)
Rest on window.

This is a topic that speaks directly to my sensibilities about first-shot reliability for any gun that will be used for hunting or pest control. Seldom do I have opportunity to take shots longer than 50-60 yards in the suburbs so that's pretty well my standard for first-shot reliability, and a budget gun that will drill an aspirin at 50 yards is pretty exciting in my book. For example here's 4 cold shots (24-48hrs) at 50 yards from a DAR shortly after a reseal job.

Which established the confidence to use it for nighttime pest control duty. Didn't have to wait long, each of the next two nights brought a visit from a trash panda

  • List your gun make and caliber: DAR Gen 3 in .25 cal
  • How long since the gun has been shot: 24-48hrs between shots
  • Distance to target: 50yds
  • Projectile type, weight and velocity: JSB 3.54gr @ 840fps (53fpe)
  • How the gun is supported (bags, bipod, offhand, etc): forestock resting on a pillow, buttstock shouldered

Just checked my FX which has not been fired in 3 months.
This just happened to show up out back so took a shot as it was on the run.

FX Dreamline Lite .30 cal
3 months and still holding air
NSA 43.8 grain slug @ 950 FPS (Last time I checked)
67.4 Yards lasered after the shot
Bipod rested on a small box in a kneeling position (Bipod swivels and tilts)
Optima 8X32 Scope set on 18 power (Not even my favorite Scope)

81yds Evol Mini .22 shooting 850fps with JTS 18gr. A real cold shot being 36* this morning lol gun sat roughly 36hrs since last used. Shot alittle low as I used wrong strelok setting. Wanted to make sure my reg was good so shot a second to see where it would hit and I'd say it's good!
