First rats of the year...

I wanted to get my first ones in the books for 2021 before going back to work and these to were very obliging. Action was slow and my time short, these two were taken with headshots at about 18 yards. Not very exciting, the first with my red light, the second without. Had I been more patient I believe I could have “doubled up” on the second rat. It had a partner, I also missed my last shot of the day on another cooperative rat at 45 yards. I was hungry and cold and knew better, but rushed the shot.😠🙀

Thank you gents, I’m putting together another mini-carbine. Of late most of my rat encounters have been 20 yards and in, and I also pass up lots of shots at pigeons, sparrows and starlings in the rafters. So to that end a sub 6 FPE setup, the birds have gotten too comfortable in building. Forgot to mention that one of the above rats. I shot while the dairy owner was present. He was happy and so was I, the rat? Not so much.
