Hope this comes out okay. Thought I’d do something a little different with this boar. I boned out the rib cage and belly fat and thought I’d try my hand at bacon.

Mahalo Phildog59! My first time out with wild pork. A lot leaner than commercial pork but I was Happy with the results!

Mahalo guys, shot him with a Georgia Airguns power tuned 25cal Cricket shooting a 33gr JSB at 907 FPS. The distance was around 20 yards and he dropped without making a sound.

Surprisingly the bacon turned out pretty good! I cured the bacon for a week and smoked it with applewood for six hours on low heat.

Wow, thats so cool i wish we had these out in the bush here. Ive had like free range pork before and even that was super tasty i can only imagine this.

Hey Glem, sorry no....didn’t think at the time to recover the pellet or see how much penetration into the skull. Maybe next time if I’m lucky enough to shoot one I’ll hang the skull in the forest and check latter.
Yes free range pig is very delicious and the bacon turned out surprisingly well! I’ve already made several dishes and plan to season the ribs and fry them Chinese style!

Nice boar, looks like you get plenty smoke meat for the new year coming up. Where you went , l stay trying up captain cook on a small macnut farm. Hopefully I can get one before new years.

Hey Keone, shot this bugga on a friend’s property. Hope you shoot one on the Mac nut farm! Would love to see footage from your gun cam! I think Mac nut fed pigs are one of the bestest tasting and eating pigs around! I had a friend lose his smoke house because of the fat dripping off the pig. It set his smoke house on fire! 
heavy-impact, I would love to shoot videos but this Pineapple is a SLOW LEARNER.... jus learned how to post pics. HAHAHA I guess that’s what happens when my main focus in skool a bazillion years ago was lunch and recess... Hopefully with everyone’s help I’ll grow an become more akamai (smart) an who knows, maybe a video or two might pop up! I’m thinking about a side shot but hear an adaptor for the hero cameras are in the making. Guess it’s back to skool...Got A LOT of learning to do! HAHAHA
sonny, Thanks Brah! Dats one good thing about taking pigs with an air rifle, you gotta wait for da right shot. Da BEEGEST PLUS is no meat damage! Nice to bone out without having to throw a shoulder and part of a rib cage away. Another plus is I’ve learned patience (small kine,probably because I’m getting older and Uncle’s brain werks slower) I’ve let a few walk because I didn’t have the shot.
