First pest bird down with the new Impact!

Bob, you sure have great taste in guns! Looks awesome my man. So funny we bought exactly the same one at the same time! I don't have my scope yet though. I bought a Burris XTRII 4-20x50. Nice shooting too! I got some silicone spray and tested a few more slugs this evening. Results are still promising but not super great. 3/4"-5/8" at 50yds. I've narrowed it down to the 30.4gr, 32.8gr Varmint Knocker and the 36gr Nielsen. I told you the flat base slugs shoot best but I found today that the three slugs that are shooting the best, even though they're all very different weights , have a short bearing surface of about between .150" and .170". The bearing surface, ogive and flat base have more to do with accuracy for me than anything else, it seems anyway. I've shot over 1000 slugs now and really want to get one of these three slugs dialed in and be done with it. It's getting to be not fun anymore. I talked to Matt D. today and might get a 700MM .22 barrel kit for my Impact. More info and seem to shoot better. Have a great weekend buddy.
