Agree in part. I can't wait to see what FX does next with the new valve and barrel system.By re-engineering the Panthera with a plenum-stabilized barrel, FX clearly acknowledged that the Impact, in longer barreled form, had accuracy/consistency issues that weren’t remedied by any of its previous damping/stiffening/tensioning solutions. Therefore, I would wait for an M4, which will no doubt also have a plenum-stabilized barrel. After trying many of FXs experimental solutions, my M3 is back to compact 22 form, where it is a gem.
I do disagree that the longer barreled form of the the M3's "had accuracy/consistency issues...". My M3 was originally a stock .30 cal with the 600mm barrel. I upgraded it with the power block, tungsten hammer and put the 800mm .22 tensioned barrel on it. It is extremely consistent and laser beam accurate. My tune for that setup is shooting 31.2 grain NSA's at 1030fps, with a extreme spread of 9fps and standard deviation is only 2.2 fps. BC of .119. Sub moa all day long.
