First long distance with my Huben K1

So I bought a hubin K1 late last year for a Christmas present for myself for coyote hunting. Finally got some 38 grain Zan slugs in. Had it initially zeroed at 40 yards. So I stepped it up to 60, 80, and then 100 yd to see what it would do. These are the pics in sequence. Not perfect but definitely not bad for a 10 to 15 mile an hour wind. I'd still say it's all considered minute of coyote.

I’m thinking it can do better than that. What speed were you pushing them at?
I was pushing them with what it said on the box; 950fps. Was told 940fps. So I dunno, I may crank it down a bit--not sure if that would do that much. When I was shooting them before I had too much hammer spring pressure and it was bottoming out. I'm reg pressure of 1700ish

Most hammerless pcp’s benefit from higher reg pressures, and a faster valve dwell. Also, slugs are trial and error. Just because the box says a number doesn’t mean your barrel will like that speed for that slug. Try playing with the power wheel a bit. Detune it a few clicks at a time and do 5 shot groups till you find a velocity they are the tightest at. Then fine tune texting from there. Stretch out the distance and see if they stay tight. You may also need to play with diameters.

Yeah, that's REAL good. What reg pressure are you pushing? I'm wondering if I should clean the barrel. I've had @400 pellets and 200 slugs thru it. Love the camo set up!
You don't need to clean the barrel. I don't normally clean the barrel unless I take it apart. I have shot thousands beyond thousands of rounds through my 2018 pellet Huben and never clean the barrel.

I don’t know why, but the long distance game intrigues me the most. Even if it’s just to punch some paper
Good shooting!!!
why is because it is fun for some of us. I can spend an entire day just shooting at rocks and dirt clods out to 200 yards. No I don’t hit every shot and if I was hitting 80% of them it would be time to move out a bit further.

@MOhunter Nice looking gun. Is this a .22 or .25 caliber K1? Any photos of the hunt?

I bought mine from Kelly at KRAZCool airguns. https://krazcool.com VERY good guy to deal with. Knowledgeable also. If you buy from him tell him Carl from down the road in Missouri sent ya. And yes, I think Hubens are worth the $$ spent. I'll probably never buy another high end airgun again. But that's me....haha

If it's a .25 huben, mine was most accurate when using .254 diameter flatbase 44-48 grain slugs from AVS. I am currently having Corbin make me a die to replicate them. I tested the .253 zan slugs and the avs were better. I actually ordered a die already in .254 but I had the o-give too round and I can't insert them by hand if I make them the length I'd like to make them. I'm about to list it for sale. It would work for anyone who has a Corbin s press and a newer .25 huben, as long as you make only 40 grain or less with it, or don't mind pushing the slugs in with a tool if you make them bigger
