First Hunt.

It's very nice to see you taking your kid out at such a young age. I just started enjoying the nature and wildlife at age 22, tho I wish I had a father who would teach me the "real life" stuff at a young age. Will definitely follow your footsteps and bring my son outside to the real world when he is older. Hopefully we'll share some of the same interests.
Keep on doing what you're doing. I know he's the happiest he could be being out there with you.

ajshoots I am taking tomorrow off work to take him hunting again. We are actually sitting here going over our gun safety rules as I type.

Awesome!! Have a good time tomorrow.
One of the ladies I work with feeds squirrels at her home and was like " How can you kill and eat a squirrel?". My reply was why not there made of meat. The funny thing is she eats 4 strips of bacon every day at lunch.

Fantastic. I've got my son started on shooting as well, 7 seems to be a perfect age to do it and an air-rifle is the perfect way to start. He already understands that we do not take a life unless its a feral pest or we intend to eat it and you're dead right, the time looking for spore and learning about when animals are active where and why is even more important than placing the cross hairs and squeezing the trigger. getting kids off the ipad and into reality is getting harder every day, luckily we've got a way to do it.
