First hunt for me and Titus since surguries for both of us

HI well It has been a difficult year I had a foot surgery in Feb and had complications , with bone infection ect , I didn't walk in 8 months with out a knee scooter , and Titus had a tumor removed from his tail area the size of a ping pong ball , well we both started walking and decided to go hunting so I loaded up riding mower with my Steyer prox 30fpe gun with the new hn 18 gr pellets which shoot awesome with this gun , better then JSB , so I used my tripod and fitted my US optic B25 with a H102 reticle, and I put a donnyfl shogun on it which makes it silent and we went for squirrels , saw 2 running but got no shots , sat like 50yds from a beech nut tree , they were there but it was so thick couldnt see them , but while hunting a big crow landed about 72 yards away and I got him in head he fell ,with in a second a loud eekk noise and a large hawk grabbed him before Titus or I got him , so then all of a sudden a bunch of crows came around all crowing and 8 landed i n same tree , 67 yds I picked out two next to each other and shot 4 shots as fast as I could pull trigger with steyer which is a semi auto , this time titus got one , and he ate most of it while I hunted a bit more then we went back to house , what a great day to get out finally ,

I had lunch and decided to go back out , but this time while my Steyer is a great gun, I decided I need a short light multishot gun for these squirrels , I am not 100% so lighter the better , I took my EVOL mini .22 cal out with a trijicon1x8 ffp mil , with a donny fl koi , very light and quick to shoot gun and I also put a china folding stock adapter so it is very good gun for me with my injuries , Well I went back out and this time I got 3 squirrels but only recovered 2 of them the third I just could not get to him much too many trees down I can not climb yet .Was a great day and and got TITUS dinner and we both got out .

hi ezana the evol is a good platform for hunting and going in woods with , it is short like a leshiy classic or any other mini gun , with a light scope it is like under 6 pounds full of air and ammo , so great to hunt squirrels and small game , it is accurate out to 100 yds when i was sick I routinely practiced off my deck 30 yds , 50 yds , 75 yds and 109 yds on small steel spinners and targets , it is repeatable and noes not lose poi ever , I did buy this one used here , and it developed a leak 2 times ,this seems to be the norm with any evol , I have a 30 cal and it is same gun just bigger and 30 cal 100fpe , and that gun had 2 leaks as well one time gage orings and one time reg orings , while the barrel tension system is best I have seen from any brand , the oring seem to be a normal maintenance of gun ... Last time I went to range with the 30 cal I had wife put out targets at 100 yds to see just how tight my slugs and nsa 61 and 66 gr grouped , I filled gun and pssh my gage oring let go , so I did fix it but didnt make it back to do some groups but inyard I do hit my 109 yd spinner with my 5x25 pm2 scope ,I did take 8 coyotes with big evol since I got it ,I run a big donny on it to tame it

Ps being this is 2nd orings for big evol I did source some harder oringsto see if they hold up better so far they not leaking

hi airshot yes titus is a 14 yr 1 mo old long haired dachshund

Hi flint yes steyer is a quality pcp I love mine I got the longer version only issue I had was to adjust the barrel distance from mag to barrel , great machine work on them , My only grips was I wish it had a light plastic stock as I am a hunter and pretty wood for me is not a plus but durability is , I got about 6000 shots threw mine I found best ammo is

pellets 18 gr hn 5.52

slugs 17.5 gr .2165

is your A5 magizine also oring free? so ammo stays in by interference? i found .550 jsb fall out so have to load with barrel pointing down ward . but with .5.52 hn perfect fit

yes, I find the rifle a little bit heavy also. But I myself love pretty wood.

As I mentioned, I originally bought it to shoot crows. So of course I went with the long barrel. Now that I’m done with that, I wish I had the carbine. As Tom Petty said, they don’t come around here no more. I used to practice quick follow up shots…The day I hit two, I shot the first one and the second one took off and I picked him off about 4 feet off the ground

yes the older A5 Holds the pellets in by friction. Once in a while the extra magazine in my pocket will have one slip out. I shoot the 15 grain JSB552, because it likes them best. I don’t lubricate them because then they all fall out.

I never thought of slugs 🐌

update today I got another one today my first with a pcp airgun while flying , or should I say gliding , over a oak tree , 3 crows were circling , I was under oak tree on mower with steyer again , This time I swapped optic to a eotech xp3 -4 optic and 3x magnifier for fast followups ,well he flew overhead I locked on to him holding 1 dot and fired 10 shots he fell litterly 5 feet from me dead as a door nail , I checked him,he was hit 4 times 3 in body 1 in neck , what a way to start my day , I used to crow hunt with dad since I was 7 yrs old , he got me a ..410 shotgun , I used to shoot crows and ducks with him and woodchucks with a remington 22 caliber pump with tube magizine , I would of never attempted this with my other pcp guns but with Steyer being semi auto , I can empty magizine in under 2 seconds , p/s he was maybe 80 feet in air so not too far away , I dont ever shoot at a flying bird with a pcp air gun , only shotguns , I think ill head to gun club over weekend and attempt to shoot a few skeet with steyer with red dot lol here is reticle of my red dot

hi flint is is 1x this makes it 3x it is for a ar15 I use it on airguns this is magnifier it is cool it has a hindge which pivots so u can use this or with out magnifaction and it is still lighter then a scope , I like eotech because i use circle and dots for aiming points ,I bought both used magnifier on sample list at swfa , and I got great deal on eotech xp3-4 from gunbroker , I accually bid on that eotech and a aimpoint h2 I ended out wining both but I sold the aimpoint here it was great unit 50k battery life for hours but i wanted more aiming points for airguns , got to be careful buying used alot of counterfiets around ,If it has red and green it is a fake LOU

ps Mike you know a cheap alternative to this might be a 3 to 5x prism scope like primary arms or others they light and indestructible
