First day with slugs!

Hello all! Just wanted to Share my first hunt day with slugs. Most shot were between 40-100yards. Before I used pellets but the wind throw off a lot of shots past 40-50yards...

Finally got a good combo of slugs and velocity for my uragan2 600 .22.

Excellent! Have to agree, you've got it dialed in & it's a good looking rig ,plus a great photo.

Its perfect. Unless something goes wrong I wont touch the reg settings or Change the ammo. These Zan 25.5gr are instakill inside the diatances I shot.

Zan 25.5grains .218 at 990-1000fps. The groups are really perfect with this combo and the Power is perfect (75ft/lbs) for my use case because I get a great flat trajectory and its usable up to 100-120 meters for hunting small game.

But I had to try a lot of different slugs and speeds to get here.

I'm at 137.5bar shooting .217 HP 21's at 977. .216 KO 20.83@ 970, and 25gr HP II .217 @916 All MOA or better @ 100 have the U1 choked barrel. but same results. I wish JSB made the 20.83 and 28.55 knockouts for your bore size, those things are like commercial production varmint knockers

I'm at 137.5bar shooting .217 HP 21's at 977. .216 KO 20.83@ 970, and 25gr HP II .217 @916 All MOA or better @ 100 have the U1 choked barrel. but same results. I wish JSB made the 20.83 and 28.55 knockouts for your bore size, those things are like commercial production varmint knockers

But do all the slugs perform the same?
Here most are mediocre, I only get great results with Zan.

@MJMDP Wow!! I was not expecting this when I read your thread’s title. more details about what you’re doing here. Are you pesting or hunting to harvest meat?

Both actually. The doves are pests, but we eat them also. The rabbits are for meat, they are not really considered a pest here but we have hundreds.

So not really for fun, but to eat.
Btw, all the rabbit are headshots to keep the meat whole!

Eheheh, it was nothing that impressive, hitting a rabbit 50yds away its not that hard. You have plenty of better hunters around. The only special shot I did was a Dove at around 100yards with the correct holdover.

I'm just happy that my uragan2 is performing great and wanted to Share!
