First day with Panthera .30 700mm

Shooting 61.4 grain NSA at 1000 fps. 150 bar and 11 on the macro. Grouping .57 inches CTC at 41 yards. This is about max power for this reg setting no matter how much hammer it has. Very disappointing that the bottom rail is not more ridged (see video). I don’t like the idea of that much flex where the riffle is going to have a good bit of its weigh supported while shooting. I have never really messed with slugs till now, and would be interested to hear other opinions on these results that have spent some time slug tuning. I’m at about 5 out of 10 on the excitement level for this riffle after using it for awhile.

Waiting for your video to load but I've heard that feedback that while the barrel may feel more rigid, contact is possible between the barrel and the forend as there's too much flex.

Good thing, we the public, are the beta testers. Imagine a mk2 Panthera is already in the works, or revisions to the rushed frame design.

That definitely looks like quite a bit of flex on that rail. What happens if you attach a bipod and load the guns’ weight onto it? Does it bounce on the bipod and does the rail then touch the barrel/shroud while shooting?
Wish I could answer your question about the bipod. I ordered an accutac with it from Utah Airguns and they accidentally sent he one with pic rail attachment point instead or Arca Spec. So waiting on a bipod that fits the gun. Can’t see how it would not bounce on the bipod. Makes me think it was a waste of money getting a nice bipod.

Thanks and good luck… will be following.

I'm more concerned about the fact that for prs, if the forend contacts the barrel, will need to let the barrel settle down before taking the shot (picture tuning fork vibrations)

You would definitely have the forend hit the barrel if you plopped it down on an obstacle without being gentle with it

It’s just a mounting point for accessories. Not a barbell band
It has no contact/provides no reinforcement. Idea was taken from the jet air dream line chassis for accessory mounting
With what it's doing in the video, it would instill more confidence if it actually made the shroud and the underrail one piece. Not wanting to get into a debate about pros and cons of barrel-fixing, but there are some designs where locking down the barrel ensures a 100% reliable point of impact (Veterans for example, retain their scope POI forever). I'm also a proponent of free-floating designs, just depends on the rest of the barrel fixing design.

But back to the Panthera... even with that clamp installed, there is clearance for the shroud? B/c if that's the case, there will still be all the movement/vlex that is demonstrated in video that OP shared.

Your excitement level is higher than mine!!!
And mine...my excitement level for this FX rifle is about 0.5 out of 10. I have almost no interest in it other than the hope that whatever innovations they introduced here will filter down to their future releases. Perfectly content with my M3's for now.
