First bullpup. Which should it be, Cricket 2, Argus 45 or Wildcat mk3 compact?

I recently purchased a Cricket 2 Tactical 60 and a FX Maverick sniper both in .30 caliber. Both excellent airguns. The maverick is definitely more powerful for slugs and long ( 100 yds + ) range shooting.

The Cricket is basically a load and shoot gun with some hammer spring adjustment. The Maverick is much more adjustable with the dual regulators and hammer adjustments along with power kits and the ability to change calibers and barrel lengths.

Hi and thank you all again.

Taipan has been on my list earlier, but the lever is too close to the shoulder IMO. Maverick is perhaps next level. It,s funny how I am already sure, that there will be a next level for me.

So for now, I am pretty sure, that I am going to settle with Argus. It has the features I want, it looks so nice and must be at least as good as cricket, right. Anyway, I was thinking that Argus will be my everyday casual partner and later, I might look something like Uragan, Huben, Maverick, Impact. etc. Something from high accurate long range sector would be my second PCP.

At first I was planning to buy just Huben K1. It has really convinced me with youtube reviews but semiautomatic feels a little bit too much for my backyard.

My only bullpup experience is the Veteran, which I have in .22 Standard. It's simple, robust, accurate, and a fantastic trigger. Most of the people who complain about the rear lever have never owned one! It also has the best magazine design out there for field use. Decock with a pellet chambered, then re-cock for a shot, which can be repeated without limit and never a double load. I never trust safeties, so it's perfect for me, no chance of an accidental discharge when decocked.

Yes, I agree, it's a little heavy.

Here in Finland it is not allowed to hunt with airguns, but you can shoot pests and some birds. Because difference between Argus and Wildcat is only about 1,5 pounds (it's definitely noticeable, but not huge difference, like it would be with Hatsan IMO) and I am going to use it mainly on my land which is about 5 acres. I mean, I won't be having long walks in the woods with it but more likely shoot lot of from my porch so that's why I am not so worried about the weight.

So yes, Argus 45 is not the most compact with the weight, but I am willing to do a little sacrifice with that feature.

Rear lever is not really a deal breaker neither, if there is something really special with the gun. But for me it looks like that there is many great guns with side lever just like with the rear lever. But is Veteran really special when comparing it to other guns mentioned here?

My advice is just buy one. Shoot it for a while. Then buy another one. Then sell the one you don't like. Buy another one. Then sell the one you don't like.

This way way you try out different guns. You really have to shoot them yourself to figure it out. It is not that hard to sell one. You won't lose that much when you sell. Just think of it as a rental fee.
