First blood rat kills for my Crosman 1701p...

I ordered the 1701p from Crosman on 12/30/20 and it was delivered on 1/6/21. Crosman took a whole year to deliver it.😊 When it arrived, much to my chagrin my old stock from my 1377 would not fit. So I ordered a stock and pellets from Pyramid on 1//6/21 and got them on 1/9/21. I did not pay for rush delivery and the package was tracking for Monday. So I was pleasantly surprised to see the FedEx man today. Attached the stock, mounted my 3-12x40 Talos and sighted in at 15 yards.

In many instances I have opportunities on sub 10 yard rats. And many times I have to pass on those “too close” shots. So I took the 1701p down to the dairy for an hour and a half. The first and biggest rat I took at 9 yards. The yellow circle shows where it was peeking from. The two smaller rats I took at 7 yards. You can see the red light, the green arrow shows the slit the last two were in when shot. If not for my trusty grabbers I wouldn’t have been able to retrieve them. All shots with 7.0 grain RWS Hobby wadcutters. Check out the hawk in the yellow circle. It had just finished making that pigeon kill. As I was attempting a poor photo with my IPhone it took off!

I haven’t chronoed the gun yet, next weekend maybe. It took 40 pumps to bring it up from 1700 psi to 3000 psi. I’m digging that I can easily fill this gun. Special thanks to all those enablers who posted about their 1701p. Which led me to a gun that wasn’t even on my radar.

also get it while crosman still has the agnation discount code, they are taking away a lot of sales like free shipping on Friday.

she is really light and quiet! House sparrows usually don’t even know what’s going on and great chance for shots on a second one! Deadly accurate even to 34 yards (far end of my yard and feeder) and still get pass through.

Thanks gentlemen, I will chrono her tomorrow with different pellets and post up in the pistol forum. My next trip to the dairy will be at night. Many pigeons, sparrows and starlings have gotten comfortable on the rafters. The peak height of the roof is 10 yards, so most of the birds up there will be in mortal danger. The rats I shot today, I could see they took it hard as I definitely wasn’t getting pass through with the wadcutters.
