First Blood New HW100S

After a few times getting skunked on afternoon hunts I tried early this morning and managed to get this one out of the three that I saw. One was far away through the treetops, the other was a partner in crime to this one and bolted out of there when his buddy intercepted the JSB 18.13 through the brain!

I have found that if you can wait a little while, the "partner" will usually come back and give you a chance to have a shot at it as well. Of course, sometimes that means waiting for 30 minutes or longer. (smile)

I find if there is a few squirrels in an area you can sit quietly and call them back in with the two Quarters method

The shot was about 30 yards. I waited in that spot for a while and didn't see anything else so I looked for the one that I'd shot then moved on to another spot to sit. That third squirrel I caught a brief glimpse of was pretty far away, not spotted again after that. By mid day the wind picked up and I needed to go do mowing and trimming over at my Mom's house across the field so I hung it up for the day.
