This was the Wildcat 25 at 22 yds. I was proned out near a barn shooting off a bipod. I'm a terrible off-hand shot so I always try for the most solid rest possible.
This particular ground squirrel is very small and has 13 lines or stripes running the length of the body. There's no limit on them in Michigan but they are hard to find in the wild.
I happen to notice their holes in a pasture I was recovering a pigeon from and decided to camp a hole for a bit. These squirrels are pretty tame around urban areas and in yards.
Nice work! Those things are everywhere here in Nebraska. I shot 16 last year on my 1.25 acres. Unfortunately i haven't had much free time this summer and the population has grown larger then ever.
I did get one this year out in the strawberry isle. Head shot at 50 yards. Next year won't be so busy and ill have some fun taking them out.
Great shooting I'm guessing that's the Hawke FFP scope. I think you mentioned 6-24X at what power were you shooting for the shots? I have concerns about the smaller reticle size in the lower powers. Thanks
