First 100Y BR cards!!!

Went to practice this morning with Tony @pesty3782 and his wife Barb. Barb is relatively new to shooting, but has shot two EFT events in Phoenix this year and has done fairly well at both…. Tony has a .30 Impact Mk2 700mm pellet A liner and Barb has @crusher Bill’s old Mk1.25 Crown with STX pellet A liner 600mm.

So after sighting in and a little practice at 50 then 100 yards, we decide to shoot some cards competition style. I explained the rules to Barb, and she then proceeds to shoot this:

First ever 100Y EBR type card in light winds and she shoots a 224-4x. What? .25 Heavy Mk2 at about 870 FPS. So Tony and I both shoot a card that doesn’t measure up to Barbs card. After a bit, we decide to go another round, winds were picking up and changing direction more often, and she shoots this:

A 223-4X. In fairly difficult conditions. Lucky for me I shot a 230-4X at the same time or else I’d never live it down.. ;)

Great shooting Barb! Tony, you got some s’plaining to do!!!
Tony, Barb told me you can have your Balls back once you beat her 2 out of 3. Oh, it’s going to be a long Summer!!!

Ouch! Well it was certified by both Barb and Tony, she was watching me like a Hawk to make sure I didn’t, ahhh, errr, ahhh, “exaggerate” my score…. I did have one flyer in the 7 ring I couldn’t explain…. These .22 RDMs are really pissing me off! ;(

The pain of .22 RD's! 90% of the time they're spot on, then inexplicably wants to throw one out of left field. Have never been able to figure out why, especially when they're examined prior to. I don't single load them, so that could be a potential culprit?

Could be. Today I had about 1/3 full tin of the FX brand RDMs. 350 per tin. Before I left I threw in the culls from a recent sorting session, about 50 more pellets. And today I had one minor flyer in the 7 ring on a competition style card and on a non scoring practice card I had TWO that went about 2 inches low and about an inch to the right and I could see them spiraling in…. Problem is I don’t know for sure they were the culls. But with the “good” tins of FX RDMs I usually only get one or two minor flyers. Totally inexplicable. ;( Oh, and I shoot from the old style Daystate magazines.
