FINALLY....they came out....

Yep, but then my veggies aren't growing right so who the heck knows. Most of the squirrels I've been shooting are young and there are a lot of them. The permission is too far for me to go over often to lay out bait for them. I need my faithful retriever Pete, I also need to be able to see my turrets, it's getting harder, a company MK Maching, makes a magnifying glass for them, that 's next on my purchase list. I also need more stickers, I've mislaid 2 of my sheets. I suppose I could get a DNT but I like my Arkens.

I was just going to respond to your earlier post about not seeing your turret numbers —
and mow you found exactly what I was going to recommend you.

MK Machining is top notch — they use the good glass for the magnifiers (unlike others).
They have them in different scope tube sizes, even 35mm and 36mm.

On certain holidays/seasons they run up to 30% discounts.

After postponing the inevitable for too long, I finally ordered a bunch of the magnifiers. They work well!

I need to order 3, going to do it today. I desperately need stickers,

Hmmmm, don't see any teats on that second picture one. Maybe just powered down some chow.
Keep up the good work!
I'm up to 135 in 4 weeks at about 3 hours per week on one small 2-acre lot, that's surrounded be many acres. They just keep coming in!

"don't see any teats on that second picture one" remember this is California. 🤕

Another fruitful trip, perfect day, a smidge warm but a very very light breeze, they little critters, mostly young and dumb, popped out at various times and locations. Pete my faithful retriever was with me spotting and giving me ranges, I pretended to know what I was doing. Net result was 8 confirmed (photos) 4 thwacks back into their burrows to become their mates next meal. Pete actually saw one crawling back in but he didn't have my Tequila pistol with him to dispatch it so, I'm claiming 12 today, ranges from 30 yards to 120 yards using my JSAR Raptor .25 and AEA 30.2(?)gr slugs @ 965fps so at 120 yards they are getting smacked with 40 ft lbs.

The last critter with the chain link shadow was 100 yard through a chain link fence, its siblings are going to be next on the agenda. Shooting through the fence is interesting, because the part I have to go though is 40 yards or so before the squirrels. I get a focus on the chain link, which of course throws off my parallax then I hope it works and I don't move.

I've got this nice bench they provide in the shade, TYVM.

A pic of some of the holes close up they just go into.

A view of where I'm shooting from, the arena area, far side are some burrows then out and around for more of the darn things. the green fenced in area that is hard is a BIG HELL NO area, not shooting anywhere near it. Water storage tank.

A scenic shot of the horses in the next pasture area, that HAS TO BE LOADED with the darn critters.

Other gorgeous day in the Workers Paradise, very slight breeze, moderate to cool temps and rodents. 5 confirmed 3 hit and the typical were in the heck did they go?

2 at 30 yards the rest at 100+ and for the addied challenge 1 through a chain link fence.

Took my FX Maverick .25 VP/600 out, using AEA 30.2gr slugs at 930ish FPS and a Arken scope. Some off of the big table a few balancing on a trash can. Glad I don't shake too much. All in all not a bad day.

Ok, another nice day in the Workers Paradise, and more rodents gone. Strangely they weren't all out at the same time, extremely sporadic. Net results were a whole bunch of slugs sent out and 8 connected. For a change I got my drone out, let's just say that finding the bodies with it are a challenge, even with my faithful retriever Pete standing over them. We made it easier for the Turkey Vultures, they have a regular smorgasbord, 6 of the 8.

First a nice arial shot of the main area. Then the Smorgasbord, Next up an arial shot of one at 100 yards through a chain link fence, and last contestant 25 yards, almost unfair. Ok there was another 25 yard contestant, it's in the Smorgasbord shot. Notice the bottom right had a gut problem, that was at 100 yards with AEA 30.2's out of my Raptor. One had no obvious wounds, just a bit of blood out of its mouth, strange. A view back through the two fences. And a view looking back at my nice shaded bench. All in all not a bad day.

Well yet another beautiful day here in the Peoples Democratic State, weather wise with a bit of a wind from north (behind me) to South. Sadly my retriever Pete wasn't able to join me and Fil was otherwise doing his indentured servitude. So it was just the old guy hauling stuff. Got there about 0945, saw six of the rodents right off the bat. Got set up, decided to actually do something intelligent for a change and zero out my turrets, 75 yards and 100 yards, already have 25 yards as my zero. First up was the Raptor and...ok the darn tank is empty..again...I WILL find that darn leak. Hit the 1" target almost straight away, I was a bit high from prior times on my turret. As I'd knocked the target down and didn't want to hoof it back and forth too much, I just set it up correctly at 100 yards. Went back and finished with the Raptor, then switched to the Maverick .25 VP, using A&E 30.2gr slugs in both, got the Maverick working, shot a few weeds for other distances marked the turret and call it good.

Then the clients came out, nut shell version, 3 siblings from the several I got last week, had a reunion at 25 yards. Saw one over to my right at 85 yards or so, heard a lovely THUNK but, no body, there was a large burrow so it may be in there. Had a few more out a 100 yards or so by the paddocks, added them to the Buzzard Brunch..getting my steps in, with a screwed up achellies tendon, ouch. Saw one over a touch to my right 100 yards, THUNK, left it there for later marked it on my map. One over across the arena through the fence, THUNK, but a HUGE burrow there. A few more candidates for the brunch menu popped up, missed a few got a few.

Net 6 for the brunch menu, 3 hits but no bodies so a total of 9. I did accidentally find that one I'd mentioned above so it's in the 6. oh upon arrival I saw what had to be 8 - 10 Turkey Vultures circling over across the arena.

Group shot, I mucked up some of the photos so....second is an exit wound, I'm going guess it wasn't going anywhere.

I added magnifiers to my turrets, big difference for the mature eyes.

Just added a picture of my map, I tried Google and Apple but they were too old so, I broke out my drone, got it up 300' and boom the picture I wanted. Basically Left is north, pretty sure you all can figure out the rest. I'm under the roof of the building center left. If you look you can see X's for the approximate location of the critter. Dead center is a green spot that's the Oasis it's 70 yards, out a bit more are 5 hitching posts 100 yards, the white fence is the end of the property at 100ish yards. Going clockwise that large square is multiple thousands of dollars that I avoid like well it's damn expensive to hit, passing on that one, then the entry 100 - 125 yards. then the fence and a road about 3' higher than the squirrels and some houses scattered. Going back around you can see the corrals, a ring, more corrals about 100+ yards and the area surrounded by a chain link fence and yet another chain link fence between me and it, a challenge.. That rectangular area with the 3 x's is the drain field for the septic.
