FINALLY....they came out....

Finally, went to my permission and the damn rodents were out, boy were they out. A true target rich environment. Everything from 25 yards to 125 yards. Luckily they'd mowed the weeds at the 125 yards so it was way easier to see the pesky rodents.

Today I used my Raptor, 660mm 26in. barrel, AEA 30.2 SLUGS at 960fps. 56 ft#, 41 ft# at 115 yards. My marks were spot on from a few weeks back so close enough

Saw some out at my 75 yard mark and pretty sure I hit it, saw some more out at 120 yards had to play around with windage and elevation and thought I'd gotten a few, never did find them but a Turkey Vulture sure did. Saw more at 55 yards, nary a clue if I hit them but I scared them. Saw two at 25 yards nailed the small one then momma came over to investigate, bad mistake. Then 4 more at 25 or so on a log, how I missed them is beyond me, I think I had my elevation off, I've got to get new glasses. Then people started showing up and that was the end of it, eyes were getting fuzzy anyway so it was time to call it, hadn't seen any for close to half an hour, plus the wind was starting to kick up. Sadly my faithful retriever Pete couldn't make it, something about his birthday or some such nonsense and Fil wasn't available either to go and fetch.

It was strange how the 120 yard blew out the guts but the 25 yards were pretty much pass throughs.

Great shooting and nice pics! Any wind while pesting for ground squirrels makes consistent POI tough, you did great!
Thank you, It was absolutely perfect today, zero breeze to swear at, cool air and warm sun. Hoping to get lucky again on Monday. I need larger stickers for my turret or way stronger glasses, new eyes or lenses wouldn't hurt either. Luckily I don' have an issue with the reticles in my Arken's .

You're welcome! I too pest for ground squirrels @ my friends place so I know how wind can effect POI with my .22's especially with pellets less with slugs.

You're out around the Fresno area if my old memory serves me right. My Raptor LOVES the AEA 30.2's so I wanted to give it a work out today, it's also fine with the AEA 33.9 pellets. It's normally very windy but as I said, a perfect day.

I am actually in SoCal, Orange County. I too appreciate a windless pesting day...😂👍
