Finally got my Texan .308 carbine out for some test shooting PICS

FINALLY! I finally got the texan .308 carbine out after the build

Shot group pics at the end of the pics, also sorry I copied and pasted from my IG

This rifle is BONE STOCK internally. No spring, no hammer, no valve work. Only what you can see from the outside.

It consistently shot 860 fps with .309 113gr (which I cast, my first time casting and sizing) solids which is about 190fpe. I don't think that's bad at all considering it is a carbine. I am also wondering if the 12* temp here has anything to do with that. I ran a bunch of groups untethered as my regulator is still not setup yet and once the tank hit 3000 I tethered up.

The stock from #diamondgunstocks = amazing! The leather on the tank makes it very enjoyable to cheek. Lop is real good especially considering I'm running the longer 580cc @talontunes_airguns tank. The @donnyfl emperor really does a superb job at making this rifle tolerable on the ears and they will always have my business.

The shot groups are at 60 yards , I don't have the best shooting setup, steel chair, flimsy 10 dollar table from Walmart.

I cannot wait to dial this thing in more and practice with it.

I do.all my own casting too. When you make your own ammo build the air rifle and it shoots fantastic. That's what it all about. Check out accurate molds they have a great selection of 30 cal molds. You should powder coat your cast slugs too. Check out Elvis ammo on you tube for powder coating bullets in bulk. I do 25 lbs at a time. To get started you need a toaster oven a plastic container and a wire rack. Keep your barrel clean the lother walther barrels are strait but they can be a little rough.

I am going to look into this, I did lube these per recommendation of someone else and I do believe that helped a great deal!

I shot .308 through this rifle before the build and I believe the ticket was to cast and size to .309 , that was the magic. I have my eye on a much nicer mold its .309 130 gr , I would like to get the rounds as close to 1" if not over in length to get a better BC , these 113 gr I am shooting are just over 5/8"

Pics of my casts and the mold I have my eye on
