Now I have to fine tune it, but before the PP and slug kit the NSA 33.5 gr ave velocity was 860 fps. Now its running them ave of 960 fps on setting C.

.25 Hybrids are 1014 fps ave on setting E , and 993 fps on min. Basically same for NSA 26.5 gr.

Had to break out the Ronin and extension.. shooting these velocities is LOUD. Overpowered my Sumo... My emperor is currently quelling my SK-19, so I chose this combo to bring the impact down to reasonable intensity.

Hows it shoot with no fine tuning?? Pretty good. 75 yrd setup. Out my window. Look close, you can see the target 🤏🏼

75 yards bipod- Best were the NSA 29gr - both 9 shot groups were 28mm each. (1.1 inch)

The NSA 33.5s were basically the same at 25mm and 28mm - 2nd group had 1 flyer which I knew I pulled. 🤷‍♂️

Last I tested were the Hybrids at 1013 fps. They were not as tight as the NSA's.--- 37mm group.

Nothing like a nice weekend day spent chucking lead!! Thought I'd share. 🤗

Ill tune this badboy and see how much tighter I can get these 75 yrd groups. Going to run some VK's and Griffins as well.

The 2 Howitzers side by side.

If the rifle with 700 barrel is loud with the Sumo, chances are you have a bunch of wasted air. See if you can get those groups to 1" at 100yds with some harmonic tuning. A little less velocity should help.

When I was in Washington a couple of weeks ago, I was working a tune at 980fps that wouldn't group well at 40yds. I ended up at 952fps doing one hole at 20yds and then stacking slugs at 115yds with a shooter new to the Impact.

From velocity tune to completion of harmonic tune in less than one full mag. After doing it a few times, you can really cut down on time, air and slugs. Let us know how it goes!!

Sweet setup, and when I tuned my impact I watched Bob O’s video last year when he was in his car after a good day at the range. And I watched it three times and I tuned my impact the same way and it worked! I have shot over 10,000 shots since and not changed a thing. It takes a lot of time and slugs but when you get it right the results speak for itself. Good luck

Bob,

Very sound advice. It is def burping excess air right now. I need to sit and tune it for max efficiency and find that harmonic sweet spot. I can tell its not in balance yet. Just have to find the time. Do as much research as I can.

Taking the impact completely apart was really a good experience. Really furthered my understanding of a pretty complex gun.

Any of you Impact nuts want to weigh in on effective use of the valve dampener in tuning?

Pickzilla,

Hello. I really like your setup. I just ordered my first PCP, and elected to go with an FX Impact MKII in .25 caliber as well. I was wondering if I could use the Huma Dual Chamber Transfer Port (DCTP) in conjunction with the FX Slug Power kit. I called Utah Airguns, and they said that the Huma DCTP would be fine with an NSA pellet probe. Not quite the answer to my question I was looking for...

So now I come across your post, and see that you fitted a Huma DCTP to a Slug Power Kit. I take it that the Huma transfer port swaps out with FX's transfer port from the Slug Power Kit, correct? Thank you for any feedback you can provide, and happy shooting!

The Huma dual transfer port is a separate purchase, that switches out the factory brass transfer port on the barrel assembly. That’s one purchase.

the slug power kit that has the pin probe is another separate purchase. I saw that pyramid air had them in stock two days ago.

Make sure and also consider the Ernest Rowe dual transfer port from 910 airguntuning.com. The openings are larger, 20degree slash cut on the sides to lead the air in, and is designed to have an optional smaller transfer port 180 degrees from the dual transfer port, so should you ever want to lower your velocities but don’t want to lose or mess with your guns settings, you can just rotate the barrel 180 and your velocities are instantly lowered.

Yes the probe from the slug kit will work just fine with the Huma transfer port (or any other aftermarket transfer port). As mentioned above, the slug kit does not come with a new transfer port.
