Finally got my cricket 2 .25

 I’ll do a better write up on this gun after season ends and have time to test more. Had it a couple weeks now after several delays and quickly mounted a scope to do some hunting. Went squirrel hunting last weekend and got four. Not bad but need to learn the rifle. Shooting fx hybrids at 985 fps and makes the most satisfying noise ever when the hollow points slam through the head of a squirrel. 

This will replace my old war valved marauder .25 for favorite sound on impact. Laser beam when I hold it still. This is my first cricket and I can say it won’t be going anywhere but to the woods with me for a very long time.

Thank you. It is smooth and getting smoother. A little heavy at the final inch but not bad at all. Mine is power tuned so I’m sure it’s even easier with the factory spring. The new position of the sidelever is perfect for my hands. It does stay open for mag changes. I let it hang from the single point sling and use both hands to swap out in the field. On the bench is even easier.

Sitting in the rain hunting deer with crossbow today and haven’t seen a single squirrel. Or deer. The squirrels must’ve heard I was also carrying the cricket today! Getting my rifle wet for nothing. Might have to order a synthetic stock for rainy days.

Those are some big squirrels and that Cricket II is gorgeous, plus I like the b-roll shots.

eBay special. Searched single point sling and found these 2 for $10. More are in the mail on the way to me now. I like them for being looped on both sides and because they lay flush on the pick rail. Scope clearance isn’t an issue

I've got an older Cricket .25 and am completely in love with it, I hope she says yes when I ask her to the prom, but yours is really pretty and tempting too. I'd prolly hit on yours too, imma little creepy like that, and society made me ... 

I do love my Cricket fiercely, but the cocking lever up forward on yours is hard not to envy. I think there might be a lot of Cricket owners, very satisfied, who are now thinking of selling off ...but for me, I am going to wait until there are a year or two of reviews first. Let's see how this all plays out.

And in the meantime, grats on a beautiful rifle that I bet I'd be real happy to shoot.

Thank you all for the compliments. I’ve already had the gun halfway apart to remove excess lube and as far as I can tell, it should hold up well. Everything seems to be made from high quality materials and the fit and finish is perfect. Robust is the word that comes to mind. I’m going to be putting in a different reg at some point but that’s the only thing I’d like to change at this point. I won’t lie and tell you I wasn’t nervous when I drilled the stock to install the picatinny rail but know I can get a replacement if I’d screwed up. Thinking about ordering the synthetic bullpup stock so I don’t have to worry about this one but not sure it’s for me. And I received my Eagle Vision adapter so I can use my sumo and get this beast even quieter. Squirrels may be in trouble this weekend
