Finally got another 🐿

Special thanks to the folks on here for suggesting a perch & some bird seed. Seemed to work well. I was aiming for the head here but seemed to get a vitals shot. Either way, hoping to make my house squeak free one 🐿 at a time.

Hw97k .177 with my cheap ass crossman hollow points 7.9gr. Happy hunting!

Nice shot, but keep working on the accuracy. (smile)

Also, try the domed CPUM or LUM77 10.5 grain pellets. I find them to be MUCH more accurate than the CPHP 7.9 pellets. The heavier pellet will be a little quieter and will lower your fps. I shoot them at ~750fps for ~12+fpe, which is MORE than enough for backyard pesting up to and including Arboreal rats (tree rats, squirrels), chipmunks and rats.

BTW, although it has long been said that the CPUM 10.5 (boxed 1250 count) are better than the LUM77 (tinned 500 count) because the boxed version all come from one single die...

My experience of late is that the LUM77 (tinned) version is/can be as good or better. I still have at least ~10000+ CPUM (boxed) pellets that have LOTS of defects (mold artifacts and irregular skirt wall thickness, etc) that don't shoot straight/accurately.

YMMV

Thank you gents. Love my 97k. I just got 3 tins of h+n field target trophys 8.64 grn (thanks again squirrelfuquer) and will be using those for field target.

I have 9 tins of the walmart chps to work through in my back yard before I am in market again for pellets but will check out the boxed.

I started trying to chop down a tree with pellets. Gonna see how many it takes to drop a 15 footer. I began today, this is gonna be a project and my wife formally thinks I'm an idiot for it.

I have been telling my wife that I need as many tins of pellets as she has pairs of shoes!!!

Now that's funny!

You should tell her you need the same in pellets as the VALUE of her shoes...

Lol. Beware guys, just tried this & it backfired because the response I got was "ok, I'll go to Macys tomorrow"

Sooooo... A Delta Wolf is in your near future? LOL!
