Finally, a place to shoot airguns again

The city I live in recently forbade shooting airguns in backyards. Well, recent as in a couple of years ago.

While the ordinance has an exception for shooting indoors, I really don't have a great place to shoot in my house, the angles are wrong.

Then, last night in lodge (AF&AM) a related topic came up and there was a strong consensus (unanimous) that no one was opposed to airgun shooting in the lodge. We have a place that can be safely used. Our upstairs area is a long, unused, room.

The Lodge Master ran with it and is committed to checking about a rimfire gallery. That said, the city ordinance clearly allows airguns and the lodge agreed to it. As such, I have a place to plink again.

Glad to hear you have a place to shoot again. I drive 35 miles one way to shoot at my friends house. What kind of pellet trap will you be using? I have read other users posts saying the best indoor range material is the plumbers putty in boxes so no lead dust. I have a .22 steel trap in my basement but the box is loud. I wrap it in a blanket and place inside of another box for stability. Good shooting!

I feel lucky that I can shoot in my yard. I know there’s some people like you that can’t and then there’s some that have yards that they can shoot a couple hundred yards or more. And I seen the pictures of the ranges that were quite impressive. I can only shoot to 50 yards but at least I don’t have neighbors To worry about. This is the only place I ever lived that I am able to do that. And that’s what got me back into air gunning because of the convenience.Glad you have a place to shoot now.
