I usually doesn't unless the configuration of the gun, like the TX200 makes the use of a compact scope a must. The TXs loading port would be covered with a normally long scope making loading difficult. A compact scope doesn't block it.why does that matter if your on a bench ? or laying the gun across sticks

Optisan CP scopes are pretty good too. Short, light and available in SFP or FFP. Trenier Airguns has them in stock.The GPOCENTURI 4-16x44i Super Compact - MIL-FFP look pretty cool!
