Filling new AA S510

Finially got a chance to play with my new Air Arms .17 sporter today. Got it sighted in, fired about 60 more shots and then attempted to air it up from my tank. The supplied manual says to "place" the brass female connector completely down over the male and twist to lock. NO GO! It hits the 2nd o ring and stops. All the "placing" I can muster won't move that sucker any farther down. Am I doing something wrong?

I had problems with mine when it was new and I bought another one from P.A. and it was better but still a P.I.T.A. to use so I ended up putting a male quick disconnect fitting on it ans alleviated the problem for good! I really don't know why they thought they needed to have a proprietary fitting on there rifle but that's my only complaint so it's not a big deal I guess! Hope you get it worked out as you will love the rifle!

Don't know if I did it right but I got it to work. Mic'd steel male and female brass halfs. Brass opening was about .005" smaller than the steel. Took a metal .28ga snap cap with a small piece of 400 grit sand paper wrapped around. Tight fit in brass opening. Twisted it a few times and tried it. Still wouldn't clear. Twist & tried a few more times and bingo. Smoothed it up with 1500 grit, blew out the air passage, assembled and aired her up. Works now but I hate this fill design! Thanks for your help guys!

Very cool. I had the male foster fitting from RAW on mine but what it lacks is the mesh filter to keep all the but the smallest size of debris out. Of course I never had an issue without the screen there but it's a piece of mind thing for me. After a handful of fills you'll get used to it. One thing you will do is forget the adapter at some point. That only happens once in my experience.

Glad you got it too work. Tis one of thiose odd things one might wonder why they still do it that way, heck you might as well charge $50.00 for the magazines and make em out of plastic. And other than those 2 things a pretty good rig.
I too ended up with a quick fill from rapid air weapons, no issue with the old Parker - what our's had- just a pain keeping track of one more NEEDED part.
Everything should be foster , or some standard.

Post up a full reviuew after you get it all sorted.
