Filling a 6.8L tank

I have a Nomad 2 pump which has been fine for filling my PCP bottle on the gun, but recently bought a 6.8L tank to keep me going if I'm at the range. What would be a good compressor to buy (preferably not too expensive) to fill the tank with? Can it be done with the Nomad only using it for 7-8 minutes at a time?

Plenty of members have posted about using cheap Yong Zheng compressors for tasks like that. Search “Yong Heng compressor” and you’ll see plenty of info. I think they’re around $300-$350. I take my tank to a dive shop to be filled.

Don’t do it. It’ll fry, if not by the second time it will by the fourth time. Do a search on nomad 2 failures from filling tanks. I believe the longest I’ve read in the forums one has lasted filling tanks is 6 months. In that 6 months, it was probably his 6th top off. 

Those compressor types are made for filling and topping off guns only.

@BigRagu I think the OP is asking for suggestions for compressors capable of filling his 74 cu ft tank. He was using the Nomad II to fill his rifle’s reservoir.

My Yong Heng ran 16 minutes to fill my 100 cu/ft tank from 2400 to 3200 psi, and another 16 minutes to fill my 66 cu/ft tank from 3100 to 4300 psi.

I use my Yong Heng to fill my tanks. I run it 20 -30 min, then I let it rest 20min.
