Well, that’s how I felt today!! Wifey is at work, my well house rebuild project is all done, my body hurts, so I said “Today is a play day!!”

Yahooo!!

my goal today was to take the three pcp guns I own and re sight them, check that my anti can’t bubble level was in sync with the scopes cross hairs, and try out my new pellet trap!!

First things first- gotta start up a new notebook for this year, as with age comes CRS, lol

First up is the Hatsan Hercules Bully in 30 cal. Goal was to check for pellet clipping on the new baffle and spacer system inside the QE shroud, to check for pellet clipping. Then double check my anti can’t bubble level to make sure it was in sync with the Monstrum scope. No clipping, perfect. Anti can’t all good, so here is the final sight in at 35 yards, using Vortex 44.75 grain pre lubed pellets.

The monstrum scope cope does not have lockable turrets, so I document where the readings are at on the turrets. Also, 35 yards is cake for a lot of you folks, but I find it to be my ideal sight in range for the critters I have around here. This Bully needs to be at the ready at all times, for in my area I have neighbors that call on my dispatch services from their Koi and catfish ending up as carnage on their pond banks.

This Bully is a thumper, man. At a steady 870 FPS using these 44.75 grainers, they put the hurt easily in my 1” thick duct seal inside my trap. Normally when shooting my marauders I hear a silent thud, as the pellets come to a halt about a half inch in. These 30 cal pellets were knocking on the door at the rear of the trap, as I could hear pellet on plate from 35 yards out.

Next up was he Marauder PRod, which I have set at around 675 FPS for around 20 shots. Normally I’ve been using the H&N Crow mag pellets, but I’m slowly making the transition to strictly using H&N Barracuda Extreme Hunters in all my PCP guns and break barrels. It is a nasty pellet on game, and pretty accurate for target shooting.

I settled on a okay group, being at 35 yards I know I’m gonna hit something in the head with my group, but I’m going to try and re visit this at another time. I hadn’t eaten breakfast and it was almost mid day, and I was getting the shakes while hurrying my shots. But, for now, I’m okay with this sight in.

Last up is my 25 caliber Marauder Synrod, my first ever PCP that got me into this madness of a hobby. Since aquiring the Hatsan’s Bully last July, this Synrod has been stashed away with 1000 psi in its tank. Miss shooting this, so simple, light, and as shown from the picture of the final sight in, it never lost its zero. I only fired 6 shots total, and called it good.

These are with the Barracuda Hunter Extremes, 25 cal, pre lubed pellets.

Great day, all in all. I’ve never had a day since retirement over a year ago to just play, so today was a big treat. Also, it showed me the importance of checking for scopes zero, cause it doesn’t take much to knock it off.

Just thought I’d share. I was thinking while doing all of this, about some of the folks with like 10 or more PCP guns, if they’ve ever taken a day to re sight, check for air leaks during storage, and just plain feeling like Ferris Buhler, lol.

Looks like you had a Trifecta with day to yourself, nothing else to do, and, by the looks of it, a beautiful day! Weather here in GA is more like poopypoopy BangBang, non stop rain.

Ha, ha! I have stuff to do, always, and that’s just a problem with me. I’ll always try and find stuff on this house that needs fixing, but for now, I’m burnt out, and what’s the use of having a pcp fun toy if you can’t enjoy it, right. I’ve spent the last three months working on my property as best as my hurt body allows, and at night cruising these air rifle forums reading about everyone else’s fun with the gun. So today, I pulled a grab and go, and shot to my hearts content.

still contemplating making a cool trap like you did on your video. I was at Home Depot two days ago and almost bought me one of those plastic totes, lol!!

Intenseaty22 … you're not alone … nothing but rain day after day after day here in NC. The path to my targets are under water. Oh well, only 2 more days of rain forcasted and then the fun can begin.

Man! My backyard is a swamp!! This red clay doesn’t filter water well. It’s like a saturated sponge. But the worse thing is the rain mainly comes on my days off work 😡

@Bigragu Looks like that trap you have there is straight out of the Mad Max World. That thing looks like a tank! Biggest claim to mine is how stupid easy it was to make.

Ha! Mad Max. That’s funny. It is heavy. Tomorrow I’ll weigh it, before I get too many pellets in it. I probably only have around 30 max from today’s first time use. I know it’s got 7 lbs of duct seal in it, and I’m guessing it’s around 55 lbs without the duct seal.

its a 10” x10” x 6” deep box, made all out of 1/4” plate. There’s another reason I only set it up for 35 yards, lol. Trying to carry that while on a cane was no fun, so out came the hand truck.
