Female Quick Connect Dust Cap from Air Tanks Plus

Just got these in the mail. Thought I would give them a test drive and glad I did. I'm one of those airgunners who likes to leave the fill probe attached to the end of the fill whip. This cover fits over the probe and quick disconnect perfectly.

Peace and dust cap grease

I'm using the poor man's version, a spark plug boot from the local auto supply store. I sealed the small end with clear silicone.

That will work fine. I have some poor man's versions myself. You're just using that to cover the male foster end though right? These I have cover the whole female end of the air hose.

Here's some more pics for comparison. I have some custom made probe covers for my Crickets and here's some pics for comparison.

Hey,CAMPFISSEL, I’ve always wondered how the ATP Kapman gets attached onto a male foster? I know it’s not a magnetized cap, so is it just friction fit? Or is it a QD? That o ring at the base of it, does this play a part in the friction fit(if it indeed is a friction fit) or just for looks?

Thank you

It's just a friction fit. Has four little ball bearings on the inside that do the gripping. Those two little orings visible on the outside are just for looks I had assumed? But then again you got me thinking? I haven't tried to take the orings out because they are in there so damn tight, but I'm willing to bet that they hold the ball bearings in place?

Probably just drop the bearings in from the outside, they fit just precisely enough as to not go all the way through the holes and then just snap the two orings over them from the outside to keep them in place.

Thanks for the link MacGyver. We can never have enough dust covers!

Agreed, and you're welcome. They seem to work very well.

BTW, the size I'm using fit the Foster on the gun perfectly, but for those fill fittings you might want some a bit longer. The good news is they come in all sizes. McMaster Carr also sells them as does Grainger.

Yeah buddy, Airtanks Plus sells them as well, although a little more pricey than the Amazon link.
