Feinwerkbau 800 Evolution Top (Inquiry)

Hello Group,

Could any one that owns a Feinwerkbau 800 Evolution Top, please confirm if the rear sight is mounted on an 11m dovetail.
Most pictures shows that the rear sight sits on some type of riser bridge, although no details of an 11m dovetail mount.

It is mounted onto the receiver dovetail, and that dovetail is approximately 11mm.

From manufacturer to manufacturer, their dovetail sizes vary somewhat, but it is usually an inconsequential difference.

11mm scope rings will fit the FWB dovetail if that is what you are planning.

The riser you speak of is a sight line riser for a relaxed head and neck position, but it is also mounted on an 11mm dovetail.

My eyes does not seem to work well that type of sight, I looked through one (not a FWB model) at our 10m range.
I have a 1 MOA red-dot, which can mount on a 11mm dovetail rail; I guess I will need to watch that the cocking lever doesn't interfere when loading a pellet. I still have not made a purchase, I wanted to know if I had any options.
Oh yeah, I'm an old North Dayton native, I used to fly my RC planes up your way; my brother lives on a small farm in Casstown.

For the rear sight visibility, you may wish to try an adjustable aperture in the rear sight. It will let more light in and will eliminate the dark cloudy effect of a too small aperture.

You need to make sure the cocking lever is the " Lothar" style so you can flip it to cock the gun by forward motion instead of the pull back.
It is Very simple to switch back and forth.

I have the 800 FT 20.4J version and it came with the " Top " riser, It was Way too tall for me personally.

As you can see in the pics, i went with the BKL Rings to mount the scope, this allows me to still use the cocking lever in the traditional pull back motion.

Since I've not laid my eyes on one to handle, it's hard to see how much the cocking lever is offset to the right away from your wind-age adjustment.

You can swap the cocking lever around so that it faces rearwards, and you can cock the rifle by pushing down and forward.
I THINK that they can all be switched in that fashion, but only certain ones can be swapped from left to right side.
I could have that backwards though.

Since I've not laid my eyes on one to handle, it's hard to see how much the cocking lever is offset to the right away from your wind-age adjustment.

Here are a few more shots showing clearance.
Note in the close-up shot of the lever the 2 M4 screws and the slot in the front hole of the lever, there is a small bit of angle adjustment there.
You can see in my pics that mine is slightly angled out at the top of the lever to clear the windage knob.

You can also swap that lever and it becomes the push to cock.

I just can Not remember for sure if the 800 Top version has this cocking lever, you can call Shane at AoA , he can verify for you one way or the other.
