Tuning Feinwerkbau 300S needs repair

Reaching out here for recommendations of an airgun Smith to repair a Feinwerkbau 300S. 

This gun is from a friend's estate and family wants a known Smith to repair.

So please send me some recommendations

Question for you since you own one.

Is the side lever supposed to be hard to lock closed. Ie after the pump stroke on the one you have to push fairly hard to get the lever to cam and lock closed.

Yes, it's compressing the breech seal to ensure proper sealing. If it's tough, someone has probably already replaced it at some point. The originals were white and disintegrate. 

When I rebuild one, I size the breech seal so it doesn't take as much force to close. But most people don't and they work fine either way. 

Airgunwerks (David Slade) can rebuild it for you. I shoot with him and he does great work and is a good guy.

There will be resistance as you pull it open. That is the cocking stroke but it is light enough to do with just a few fingers.



Closings should be nothing but the ratchet sound right up to the last point when the arm clicks on the latch but that shouldn’t be hard. Just a firm click.



I will also say Dave Slade. Solid guy and has been factory trained.

David Slade has done two guns for me within the last ten months, a FWB 124 and a Beeman(diana) Original six( Giss recoiless system), both guns came back working great.

Yes without a doubt. He was the head gunsmith for Beeman back in the day and knows more about spring rifles and 10M guns than almost anyone. He worked on my FWB many years ago as well and it turned out great.

David Slade has repaired my FWB 124 1 year ago -excellent

Now has a new to me another FWB 124 that need a trigger and tuning.
