Favorite pistol to build?

What is everyone's favorite base gun to build/accessorize/modify/upgrade? Prod? 2240? Other? 

I've seen lots of posts of people showing off their creations and have always been very impressed and even a bit jealous. With plenty of free time, I thought I'd make a go of it. I know a Prod is a favorite, but I'm afraid it might break the bank once I get into it. It would be for paper-punching, not hunting. Caliber doesn't matter. Moderate budget.

Not speaking from knowledge or experience here, just to be a devil's advocate -- if paper punching is your thing, would the Prod even be one of your better starting points?

Got to love the 2240 for a base gun so many things can be done with it. With a 2250 tube, Baker bulk kit and a few screws to hold the valve it can be an inexpensive PCP gun. That is until you add the repeater breech, tank, FX barrel and...

I think the 2240 or 2250 has the most support. But I like my 1322 the best. It's mine after all

Not really a build pistol of the type used as a platform gun, but thought I would add it for interest.

Shortened barrel housing (not shorter rifled barrel) Rebuilt internals for 520 FPS.
