N/A Favorite pcp air gun for survival off grid bugout ?

I have plenty"real "guns too lol. That's not what I was asking. and yes most people dont have enough land to stay put.. i wouldn't go anywhere but stand my ground. Where i am I have no doubt surviving off the land would be fine atleast for a while. It's not that serious of a question I'm wondering what everyone else would pick either out of their collection of airguns from what is available.
I see your in NY, it’s winter. Farmland I’m reasonably confident you can get deer. Adirondacks, Catskills not so.
Especially when needed. How many times have you heard “ there’s deer all over” until you and others are hunting them.
Sorry I took the Airguns question and turned a different way.

I suppose I’d take my revere 25//// no scratch that, very poor shot count. It would have to be the zelos, more compact than some of my others

I agree.. and couldn't predict or depend on anything. The zelos seems like a very respectable little airgun I'm sure it great on small amd medium game, one i was hoping to try eventually.

Does anyone have favorite air gun for this situation? So far I like the aea harpoon and huben gk1 because of there size and ability to hand pump. The power is good but it would be nice to have more if needed.

I really like the GK1, but when it broke Kraz Cool airguns said I couldn't buy parts to work on it because they need a 'specialized tool'. Maintainability is critical to me in a survival situation.

Off grid with a PCP....thats a joke, no way!! Get a high quality old school super reliable springer like mine below and a good rugged knife. You can live off rabbits and squirrels. Carry a half dozen tins of pellets and Live within reason to someone's corn field, tomato patch, potato field for sustenance at night, then disappear into the outback until hungry again. By the time you use up one tin of pellets, you will be ready to return to civilization!

Of what I have it would probably be the NOTOS. I think I would want to be as mobile as possible and stay on the move. remaining to long in one spot because someone will always be wanting what you have even if it's not much. Keep the load light because you'll need tools and shelter. A few good stashes would also be a good idea.
But in my opinion the best tool for survival food wise would be some line and a hook. I think one would also need to be good at gathering.
But yeah, most people do not have survival skills and will be forced to stay in the populated areas. They will form clans and will eventually deplete what is available. All you really have to do is read about the Donners. No need to speculate what will happen.
I'm too old to even think about it. You might want to teach your kids some skills though.

BTW... ammo ain't gonna last forever and lead is pretty heavy to carry around.. if you can find it.

The downside, for me anyways, in choosing a PCP for a shtf situation is filling it. You have to carry a hand pump and you basically double potential oring failures. No climate control at all.
I think I would prefer one of my 9fpe chopper .177 break barrel guns. Lots of fur and feather can be taken at 25 yards <>.
If this is a full scale situation it's not gonna be fixed overnight. I'd have to be prepared for the long haul.

My every day survival carry is my GK1 .22 even though it is a carbine configuration it still holsters, does everything I need to gather protein, and does not add unnecessary weight to my pack load if I were to bug out. As far as needed support I have a repair shop, and at my age I'm bugging out at home where all the fire power is stored.

Airgun for survival ? Ridiculous
Do you live somewhere guns are not allowed ?

As far as what real gun I would I grab. It’s not so easy to answer. Feeding yourself? shotgun , 22lr.
Defending against humans ? smaller caliber center fire (mines a mini 14 a little less scary to the NY unknowledgable) , shotgun ( slugs) , 1911 sidearm. You can carry a lifetime of 22lr ammo but.
My first choice would be ride it out in the house.
Like 3Crows said “ where you gonna go” you’re probably not going to have enough lead time to get to your bunkers in the wilderness. Do you really think you can feed yourself and maybe wife and or kids in the wilderness? Your not.
Agreed. Suppressed .22 would be my choice. Quiet and effective

Taste like chicken! lol

I travel a lot and when you can not take your powder burner, I just recently bought a Talon P.
Maybe does not quite fit the "survival" but it is better than nothing for small game hunting and keeping a threat at least 30 yards away. Airforce Airguns are the only PCP I have never had a leak with. The P is light, powerful and small so easy to take as a "survival" or more likely on the road gun.

As for people who think SHTF would never happen, I guarantee you within 5 years (2030) there will be another epic pandemic again, much worst than the last one, as Bill said in one of his interviews (the Gates that is): "the Next pandemic is not the matter of IF, it's the matter of WHEN?"
And I think he knows when...

Anyways, as for Devink's question:
I would say, I'll use and survive with whatever I have, but if I must choose an airgun:

PCP setup:
Gun: AGT Uragan 3 in .22 600mm
Slug: from 25 to 40 grains, depending on the type of game available.
Hand pump: Huben hand pump, it's made out of titanium and stainless steel, and super light, the best there is IMHO.
And a bag of O-rings, well protected from the sun and environment.
and other survival necessities, of course.

For Springer, I'd use HW80 or similar.

If there's water around, I'd fish with whatever is available.

as an example:

We got these in 4 to 5 hours from a shallow lake close by. I punched every one of them to death myself, ha ha ha.

For me, THE MOST important thing is not the gear, but WHERE to survive, the criteria are:
1) Far from civilization, 20km or more from the closest village, is perfect.
2) Clean water
3) Full of game
4) Everything else is trivial.
