Falcon X50

Does anyone have first hand knowledge of or experience with this one? I understand that they are Japanese made in the same factory as the Sightron SIII. BUT I’m concerned about the reticle being too fine for my old eyes. Does it have a 16x line/number on the power ring? Where do you send it should a warranty repair be needed? Looks like a nice FT scope but at just south of a grand I’d like to be sure. THANKS. Uj

No 16x line. That's really the only fault I've found with mine.

Using it for field target, Open class

Tracking, repeatability etc has been perfect. Strapped the thing to a big heavy butcher block when I first got it and did some variations of the box test while changing powers and side wheel. Nothing I did could induce a shift in its ability to track and return to zero.

Looked through it next to it's cousin Sightron and liked what I saw better with the x50. Also looked through a friend's Khales and thought the X50 was more clear. That was before I bought the falcon too, when I was still considering what scope I wanted to buy. So no bias of trying to justify where I chose to spend my money at the time of looking through the Khales.

The only time I thought I was having scope troubles was at a match earlier this month when I got off a revolution. I was blaming the scope but upon further investigation, figured out it was operator error.

I'd recommend one, after using it now for around six or seven months.

Got another gun coming and trying to justify buying another X50 to go on it actually.

Cole, I bet that's one thing you miss about the mil/mil SWFA 20x?! You were probably at 3.2 mils for 10Y like I am with my Athlon 6-24 in mil, so about impossible to get a rev off.

I used to get a rev off with my old 6-24 B&L once in a while because 10Y and 30Y were both 0 on the turrets. It was usually when I'd get distracted like when I messed up a shot and got mad or got to talking with someone.

Yep Steve. The ole 20x swfa was 27 clicks for 10 yards and 8 clicks for 55. I think that scope is 80clicks per revolution so dang near impossible to get lost with the elevation turret.

The Falcon is 8 more clicks more than a complete revolution for 10 yards. 11 yards is right about one full revolution. Being that close to zero really can mess a guy up if they forget to go all the way around back to zero. And yes, zero is dead on @ 30 yards.

Personally like the 1/10 mil a little better than 1/8moa but realize the 1/8moa is much more fine.

It's all part of the fun and challenge though.

Right now it's looking like that particular trusty old 20x swfa is going on my new Raptor, with Don's sidewheel conversion of course. Although, after looking through Bobbies, I'm considering the Athlon Midas Tac. Or maybe even the 6-24 Bushnell Engage-Rex's seems mighty clear, and the $70 rebate makes it a lot of scope for not a lot of 💰

Certainly that F50X ranges fantastic because your scores went up! That's a very important thing when shooting in open class.

Hardly use it but I like 10 mil knobs just in case I need to use them, and a zero stop is nice too. Sure is nice when dialing up to the 210Y and 289Y steel at John's place. You should plan a trip over to John's so we can try out your new Raptor!

I hope ole Don is doing okay! I was thinking of more 3D printing ideas I'd like him to do for me.
