When using several of my scopes, I get the image on the right scope below, except my view is shaded like a dark half-moon on the left side of the scope view, what gives? any suggestions appreciated
Your eye is not lined up with the scope. Too far away and not centered in what I call "the box" - where the image is full size of the glass and centered. Higher magnification makes the "box' smaller and more critical for alignment.
Move the scope closer to your eye by sliding the mounts rearward, that should do it. When mounting a variable power scope you should set eye position with the scope on high power, low power is not as critical.
+1 to the answer already posted. You can move the rings back on the rail or you can move the scope back in the rings. What works for you.
Set the scope to max zoom, find where the eye box fits your shoulder and stock, then snug it down. When you set it at high zoom, it will be already set on low zoom.
