Extreme Field Target Setup

Looking to get into this next year thanks to Mike over at PSA putting it all together. I'm looking to get myself a decent gun to shoot the match with and I'm torn between the Crown in .22 or a Crown in .25 or possibly even a Crown in .30.

My question to people who have shot these matches, what caliber do you prefer and why? Also, if you have recommendations for a different gun I'm all ears as well. Im a bit of a "form over function" kind of guy so aesthetics are important.

I too am looking forward ton this at PSA. In the past, my matches in Binghamton have been the day before PSA's, so haven't made the trip down yet. The 2023 schedule shows our matches on different weekends, so I'll definitely be making some trips to Palmyra.

Since you have the ammo, I'd go with the 0.25. Can always change the caliber later if you want. I'll be using my 0.30 Maverick since that's basically the only non 0.177 I have.

Can't wait to try this out.

I didn't think
I agree you have the tins so go with .25 and maybe slugs for windy days over 12 mph
Thats a good point but honestly I never really understood the point of slugs. I like pellet guns for their limited range (which is still pretty far) and their ability to shed energy. If I need to go further 22lr and 17hmr have always worked great for me without all the hassle.
