Events Extreme Benchrest 9.5 – Lockdown Edition

This is my first experience with something like this. I just purchased my first PCP (Airforce TalonP) a few months ago, and I love the idea of this competition. Although I didn't fair too well, I certainly enjoyed the learning experience, and will work at being better next time. My home is surrounded by lots of trees, and I had to cut down a small tree to get a perfect alley for the 100 yard shots. Lots of fun. Here are my scoring sheets. Looking forward to next year!

Here are my results....if that’s an appropriate description. Shooting a .177 at the required distances in the wind we had was a bit more than challenging. All that coupled with the inability to set the scope properly (ran out of adjustment) so I had to use Oz windage. (That’s similar to Kentucky windage but to another level of reality!😊)

I can only hope to do better in the prize drawing!

Had a blast tonight shooting our targets tonight.
Paul capella @airgunreporter schooled me at 100 yards with my own gun.
Big shout out to @cyclops_videos for hooking me up with @tract_optics
Scope. Made all the difference! Thanks Joe

All targets shot with an FX Impact in .30 cal

I shot a 236 7x at 75 and 208 at 100.

My son Everett made me a very proud papa with a 231 x6 at 75 yards and 210 x1 at 100.

And we were all impressed when Paul shot a 236 x6 at 75 yards and a 217 x2 at 100 yards.

Thanks again to the entire team at Extreme Benchrest and Airguns of Arizona for all the hard work they do to let us have this much fun.

First, I would like to thank Airguns of Arizona for making the most out EBR this year! You guys went a step further to salvage something out of this shoot year. Thank you so much!

Because of you guys I got my best score with this gun at 100y. Luck came my way today. Just as I started my second card, the wind fell to NOTHING! I one took one sighter, the 25 straight shots on target! A 224! This amazing gun was tuned by Centercut. Thanks Mike!

First card,

I guess we made the most of it! Good luck on the drawing!

Very good shooting Nathan! Glad the Terminator is working out for you! PS., it shot best for me with the DonnyFL Ronin installed.

FYI, I always shot from a magazine with that gun. Sometime one Mag would act squirrelly and I’d have to disassemble and adjust. FX mags aren’t the best. There is a huge advantage to using the mag when it’s windy.

Nathan,

Yes, nice shooting. Anytime you have a dealer like AoA provide great support and a known competition shooter ( CC in this case) tune and shoot your gun; that’s a reassuring feeling for sure. Instills confidence when you then shoot it later.

Assume you shot with magazines vs. SST, but you had a good wind condition and only one sighter. Congrats.

Well, I was hoping to do better, but it is what it is. Any day at the range is a good day..

These are my EBR 2020-9.5 entries.

I shot the 75 yard target using my FX Crown Gen I shooting AA 25.49 diabolos at 900FPS.
Winds were 0 - 4mph.

I shot the 100 yard target using my FX Crown Gen II shooting AA 25.49 diabolos at 940 FPS.
Winds were 4 - 10mph

I'll have to look closer tomorrow but, it looks like I missed the head of the pellet with my shot and the paper tore making it look like I just tagged the bottom of the head.

Happy Shooting and good luck to everyone!

First off... A huge thank you to Rob and his team at AoA! You guys didn’t have to do this but you did and it encouraged us to get out there! John B, Ray, and I (They’ll post their results later) got out yesterday in some very nice weather conditions. We did have some 3-7mph, with an occasional gust of around 10-13mph. We first set up our target stands then put a couple official EBR targets at 75 yards. After targets were set up I needed to set up my Impact to shoot .30 since I had forgotten I was shooting .22 before and wondering why my FPS was only around 625 🤔. I tuned my rifle to shoot JSB 44.75’s around 875, zero’d for 75 yards, liked the groups, then time to shoot. John put 30min on the timer and we shot our first cards. My 75 yard card scored a 233 with 10-X. Once the three of us shot, new targets went on, readjusted for 100 yards and another 30min went on the timer. This time the cross winds got me on a few of the targets as I should’ve been paying more attention to the wind flags. My 100 yard card scored a 197 with 4-X. Overall the experience was super fun although we were missing the great people that make up EBR! And like I for one can’t wait for next year!!!
