Exploding pellets

Mods please leave this in the General Airgun forum because it's relevant to airguns as a whole and not just pellets.

I went out shooting with one of my airgun buddies today and he brought out some pellets he's had for over 20 years. They were made in the Philippines and as far he knows are not made anymore. They explode on contact and was made for airguns to be able to kill large game such as pigs in the Philipines. I only shot about 10 and when I say exploding, I don't mean a pop like a popgun, I'm talking about 22LR loud explosion. They are 22 cal and pretty heavy.

I got shot with a shotgun in 1995, back when I worked as a police officer. I still have 5 -6 pellets in my hand because the doctor said it would cause more damage getting them out. When I asked him about lead poisoning, he explains that the body cannot breakdown solid lead and the only way that lead become dangerous is if it gets into your blood stream. This is done if you breathe in vapors or ingest it and your digestive system breaks it down.
