when your 750 euro AIR ARMS S510 outmatches your fx impact by far with slugs and pellets reliability consistency and accuracy (.177)...i sold the impact straight away

That’s funny in the Extreme Benchrest and RMAC competitions

2015 FX guns dominate Boss is 1st Bobcat is 2nd

2016 Impact takes 1st

2017 Crown in first Impacts in 2nd and 3rd

2018 Impact takes 2nd, 3rd

2019 Mostly Daystates and a Raws here but the Impact was there as well

2019 RMAC Impact sweeps 1st, 2nd,3rd place in the pro competition.

2020 Lockdown so it’s hard to say what guns won but I expect it was Daystates, Impacts and Raws once again.

I did not see a single S510 even entered in any of these competitions. I wonder how could that be?

Many have trouble tuning the Impact as it can be difficult so they just give up and get rid of them and get another gun. Not a problem and looks like it werqed out very well for you congrats on your great shooting gun. Air Arms makes some very nice guns.

But never think the Impact can't shoot if it winds up in the hands of a decent tuner/shooter. Mine with a 10 shot spread of near 7 and an SD of under 4 shot mostly .5 inch groups at 100 yards for quite some time until I changed out from .25 to .22 barrels now it shoots one hole groups a fifty yards. I have not got it out to 100 yet still tuning.

There are some really good guns out there these days and the Impact is only one of them.

thank you for the reply sir, i owned all versions from the mk1 gen 1 to the latest mk2PP 2021. all in .177 . i know how to tune it to the perfect spot and dissasemlble it and fully rebuild it in a matter of 2 hours.. MY POINT is that in .177 you can have much cheaper options that will outperform it by miles.. and since i can only own a ..177 i will not be getting an fx impact again UNLESS its got the old smoothtwist barrel.

i think the bottom line is 'unless' youre into top tier competition there are much cheaper options that will perform steller around the home .. unless you just fancy having the best equipment available for that destructive little sparrow haha .. nothing wrong with wanting nice stuff, just be sure its for you .. real easy to get caught up in the online impress somebody thing, ive been guilty, its what 'everybody' does these days ...

mate i owned most of the expensive airguns. the AIR ARMS is the first one i bought back in 2013.. i threw it in the safe 2 years ago with 100 bars . today it had that same 100 bars. no cleaning nothing what so ever. i just took it and shot it. my impact was brand new kept unopened for 3 weeks it shot 15 pellets and went back twice for warranty the gun was untuned and totally un fiddled with

Air Arms has been in the pcp business since 1989 with the Shamal and then the 100 series. They tested their products in FT competition with the best shooters - including four time World Champion Nick Jenkinson, whose modified rifle came into production as the NJR-100. His other designs include the 400 and 500 series rifles. which have withstood the test of time.

Those who lust for a traditional walnut and blued steel rifle, could do a lot worse than to invest in an AA product (springer or pcp) if the goal is pride of ownership, reliability, and, the highest standard of build quality.
