Expansion of slugs, NSA vs Varmint Knockers

Thought I would share the results of my test on these two slugs. Both had great results!

Both were shot from a Huben K1 25 cal.

Hope to finish testing the K1 soon, and can share what ammo gets best accuracy. I can say so far, NSA ammo is looking most promising.

These were shot into a home made pellet trap with a wood/steel backer. Never cared for ballistic gel, I don't think it really is equivalent to a animal scull or bone, but I could be wrong.

Try shooting a couple of chicken thighs or whatever meat from the grocer that approximates your game.

I've always wondered why people will shoot game and eat it but they won't shoot meat from the grocery store and eat it.

I've found that these: Edit- Ground Squirrels. Photo removed.

have always been willing to volunteer for cadaver service. Placed in front of a 3' tube of plastic shopping store bags @ 60 yards.

The one on the left shot straight into the back stop material for comparison. No damage.

The other three were broad side heart/lung pass through shots at 60 yards.

Just my way of checking things out.

These slugs fragment, no doubt.

I don't eat coyote, raccoon, wood chuck, so I'll leave that to you.

My point was that there are better mediums available at the grocery store to approximate projectile expansion in game and they could still be eaten same as a rabbit, squirrel or deer.

This is just an exchange of ideas, a conversation not meant to be negative or argumentative in any way. 👍
