Skout Everything Skout EVO and Epoch

Wow that is severe creep, you will never get a descent sd or fps like that, my 2 cents worth is that it definitely sounds like a problematic reg.
After a shot my HP reg will slowly creep up from like 1350 psi to 1380 psi in about 10 seconds and from there on if you wait it will continue to creep but at a much slower rate, nothing as severe as yours.I will get fps fluctuations from 1-5 fps if i dont fire at the same HP reg settings so i can't see how yours would keep a 1 fps difference when your creep is so much more!Does your LP reg also fluctuate along with your HP reg?My limited understanding of the Skout system is that the HP feeds the LP, with that logic, your LP should also be increasing.
I hope you get to the bottom of this for both our sakes.

Interesting! A friend has just passed this onto me, don't remember seeing anything from Skout about this, but I may have missed it but anyway after degreasing the areas marked I no longer have creep and although early stages It may be possible to achieve single figures, might be useful to some unless It's already well known, and I am last in the queue.:whistle:

They do mention it here, i followed this video guide when i serviced both my regs.

My O-Ring at this location looked just as bad as MSR Workshop.

Installed a new O-Ring. We'll see if that has been the culprit all along....

One would think that Skout would have known this was a 'hot spot' for O-Ring chewing.

Generally it is not .... as FAST Filling and the localized heat created and high velocity air passing around said o-ring does the tearing up !!
Try slower filling and if you hear whistling / chirping from the check valve when filling / add a drop of silicone oil and stay at a low rate of flow is just a suggestion.

I just serviced both my regulators again because I was not able to fill the gun as air would leak from my LP reg.
The attched little plastic green part was shredded, I believe it is the reg seat part no. VRG106.
Since i had the HP dissasembled I also flatenned the FLT103 part with 800 grit sandpaper on glass ( apparently this part was causing issues because it was not perfecty flat).
I have the LW barrel soaking in Robla and I will clean it out tommorow, put everything together and hit the range to see if all is well.
Soon I will have enough experience in this stuff to apply for a job at the Skout assembly line LOL.
BTW could anyone that has a digital gauge on a proper functioning HP regulator tell me if it stays still on what you set it to, or does it slowly creep up??
Thank you in advance

My gauge on the HPR will slighly change with the fill pressure, but the FPS remains constant.
this one used to bug me a lot ...but hasn't affected the POI

Thank you for answering, could you elaborate on what is a little??
Mine goes from example 1350 psi to 1380 psi in about 10-15 seconds after the shot and keeps climbing slowly before the next shot.
If i dont get the timing right and fire it within about 4-5 psi I get an fps difference.

during that time, did youe speeds change?
i have seen 10-20 psi ..might be a lot in tire pressure, but it's not much to an airgun.
If the gauges were analog, you wouldn't even notice
As long as you are not getting a big extreme spread on the chronograph

Yes my speed does change, cant speak for my poi because my barrel is dogpooh form right now, but i definitely get a speed change.
I understand what you saying about small psi diffs dont matter and surely an analogue gauge could not show that, i am just trying to figure out if this is normal or is my reg playing up?

I always got a slight raise in reg pressure with the fill pressure, but will now monitor now I seem to have the reg pressure under control, but I am now finding that both 10.34 gr and 8.44gr pellets shoot at almost the same velocity, something that it's never done before! More testing to do, but it's looking hopeful for the fabled single figure FPS, but right now I am chasing leaks! Teach me to remove and reseal the fill valve as I had to check it since several have reported shredded O rings, and strangely mine just has a metal plug with just a single O ring that just slides up and down first time I have seen a valve like this, should have taken a pic.

I too have a slo-fill valve in the large tank, but I could still hear a "whale song" while filling. I did upon reassembly use silicone grease on the O-Ring and a tad of silicone oil on the spring. Perhaps I have set the brass plug to deep, not allowing enough play, is my thought.
Regardless, yes, I did use a #005, 90 Duro O-Ring.
Yes, it STILL has a leak somewhere after this replacement. Loses about 300PSI in 2 hours.
Since all of the air will have leaked out, once again, I will replace the O-Ring, re-oil the spring and set the brass plug shallower.
Following all of these great suggestions, only to be disappointed after doing them.
I'm shipping it back to its birthplace if this last stand doesn't work, I'm VERY tired of trying to locate leaks without success.

My leak turned out to be the fill nipple as I had removed it to check the valve and O ring it was not sealing around the thread, so some more PTFE tape and it's fine again, using a bit of washing up liquid in water and a fine brush is good for locating external leaks.
Glad you got that sorted.I am still cleaning the barrel, the fouling in is absurd!
Also serviced both regs yesterday and waiting to see how that will go.

That's interesting as I have a LW barrel and since fitting it probably had around 2K of pellets through it, and It's still accurate, but then I seldom clean my barrels.

I have been shooting JTS 22.07 gr exclusively and I hear that they foul the barrel quickly.my accuracy is gone ,so I am hopping it's that.i must have about 1500 pellets through it without cleaning it.Dont know what else to try

This was something i wanted to share with Epoch users
It's important to keep the threads on the regulator caps and the threads at the bottom of the regulator clean
If they get gunked up, there is a chance you are unscrewing the regulator while adjusting the pressures
Keep them clean
ya..learned this the hard way:rolleyes:
