Skout Everything Skout EVO and Epoch

First off .... maintaining velocity of the air moving from seat to barrel is important.
If the exit at seat is smaller than the transfer path to barrel, flow will slow down as the added volume of an oversize transfer path is absorbing energy & some pressure as it fills the excess space attempting to hold the released pressure exiting from the valve seat. Get these diameters better matched the shot cycle will be come crisper and yield a lower ES shot to shot while also using a tad less air for equal speed / power.

My Skout was purchased as a .30 cal and was fitted with the HUGE .340 seat. When I was finally able to get the parts to convert to .22 cal was able to get a Tiny .177 seat and proceeded to modify it to the size appropriate for .22 caliber. then choked the transfer path within manifold.
So how large did you open up the transfer port seat?

So how large did you open up the transfer port seat?
For .22 ... in memory & not written down.
Seat at @ .280 and transfer exit at .250"
Transfer reducing straw ( Loc-tited in ) done in a shallow taper of @ .260" to @ .180" at barrel end.
* Taper creates sonic choking of the flow having the maximum release of the compressed and highly accelerated air flow happen at the barrel / pellet.

This combo also works in .30 cal only requiring a @ 200-300 psi HP set point increase.

So around 7 mm
That’s pretty large.
I only went up to 3.5 mm/ 0.1377
and I was able to turn my regulator down by over 1000 psi.
For a dedicated .177 .... Seat at .220" and a transfer exit and path to barrel @ .150" should work really well.
If valve is dwelling to long, open up the bleed hole orifice on poppet head a few .000" at a time until shot cycle is a sharp & crisp snap !

Does anyone know if the Evo reg adjusters will fit the Epoch?
if you mean the flat cap compared to the knurled caps...then Yes

Another quick one, my Epoch is limited to sub 12, and I have done various mods to get it shooting right, but I would still like to get the consistency a little better, now on the sub 12 Epoch the LP reg is non-adjustable and runs whatever proportion of the base pressure set by the HP reg which in my case is around 140-150 psi, so I am wondering if the LP base pressure was increased would it have any effect on the consistency? As it basically controls the opening speed/dwell of the spool valve, so does anyone know if it would actually make a difference at pellet speeds of 780fps?

Never heard or read of anyone else but yourself using one of these beastly guns at such a low output ...
Either get the info from SKOUT or experiment and let us know ???

Just be glad you don't live in the UK or you would be in the same boat with getting sensible feedback on these guns, you would also hate the country as we have morons running it!

I got quite the laugh out of this post. The morons part. I feel blessed to live in Idaho where restrictions are sensible.

I really felt like turning the LP up more did help.
what is your HP set to?
Before I recently did my transfer port modification my HP was at 2000psi and my LP was at 250ish and I was having really good luck
🤷‍♂️
I also could be Imagining things to lol

Interesting, How much do you need to actually adjust the LP adjuster to say increase by 50psi? I tried mine, and it was very hard to turn for 150psi and didn't seem to gain more than 10-20psi, I varied my HP pressure from 70 to 90bar depending on the pellet weight.
