Skout Everything Skout EVO and Epoch

So I shoot the .177 but I’m not limited in power like you are. Where are you fitting that reducer at.
im getting quite accurate shots but im curious what that reducer would do to a non sub 12 gun.
My extreme spread over 30 shots is 9.6 which I have felt was very good .
care to share more about the reducers ?
If you're getting just 9.6 spread at high power then I would say that's fine, my feelings are that with much heavier ammunition and high power the lager air volume that's shifted by the spool valve and air paths are what is intended, but for low power applications I thought a restriction in the size of the air paths would be better due to my past tuning work on other sub 12 guns which are tuned to an ideal FPS for each weight of pellet.

The reducer is fitted in the passage between the spool valve seat and the barrel transfer port in the manifold shown in my pic, the actual drilling diameter is just 2.5-3mm with counter bores at each end to match the outlet/inlet size so a kind of vortex constriction if you like.

Yeah, I’m using 13.4g JSB redesigns and they are working really well shooting at 730ish fps. In the Lother Walther barrel .

Hoping to find someone who is shooting the .22 caliber Epoch? My question is what brand weight are you shooting? RU happy with the results. Do you know what Skout recommends brand and weight wise? TIA for your help!
For the .22 cal Epoch, i use the JTS 22.07 or the AEA 21.9 (as far as i can tell, they are indentical in shape and percission)
Can hold MOA at 100 yards with a nice BC for a small caliber pellet. Skout recommends the same. Speeds will vary anywhere from 940-980 fps depending on your barrel and where you shoot. Best to test that for yourself

Quite low power really, but how do thy perform at higher velocities?
So my use is indoor bench rest at 19 yards and so far it’s been doing pretty well.
if I was shooting distance, yes, I would turn it up probably for sure, but at close range this is where it seems to be pretty happy. I had another form member suggest these pellets and this velocity who shoots field target with a different gun but he says the Luther or Walter barrel seems to like this combo for .177

Here’s an example of one of the targets.

As you probably know, I switched my STD barrels out for a Lothar Walther barrel and never looked back.
Same. I totally get that skout wants to make barrels for their guns, but barrel manufacturing is extremely hard to get right… and even harder in .177. Companies like Lothar Walther have been manufacturing barrels for forever… they’ve had years to work out all the bugs. So generally speaking, it’s pretty safe bet that their barrels are gonna work well.

Thank you, I will buy some and test those out.

Hey everybody so I just got a new scout epoch to complement my scout Evo.
Everything was working great until I tried to fill it up to the presumed 4300 psi on my tank and I promptly popped the pressure relief valve on the gun. At which point I noticed that it says 3500 psi instead of the 4500 most say, and my Evo says as well.
Looking at the manual, it says it will do the 4300.

does anyone know if the Epoch uses a burst disc like most all other guns use or do they use something special?

I have a 4500 disc, will it work if I just use that?

I’m assuming everything internally should be the same as the evo which has the 4500 fill?

I just purchased an Epoch compact in 30 cal. I didn't charge the battery when I got it, but it said it was at 100 percent. The battery died completely after a couple days of tinkering around with it and I had to recharge. I haven't even sighted it in yet. What is the normal battery life for these?
I’ve found that disabling the voice prompts greatly extends the battery life. They will quickly become annoying anyway, if they haven’t already.

I haven't yet, but I plan to. I got lucky with this, I guess they don't have their own barrels in for the 30 compacts yet, so you get either a LW or a TJs for no up charge. It's pot luck for which one you get. I got a LW.

Great choice, I have a LW .22 in my standard Epoch.

hey everybody, so I’m gonna reply to my own question since I finally found the answer and nobody seemed to know.
So the burst disc on the Skout Epoch are indeed rated at 3500 psi but I believe that’s 3500 psi
after the valve, not before it. So your tank pressure still can be 4200 psi
The reason I popped mine is because I have the low pressure spring kit on my gun and I was having to turn it almost all the way up when I’m shooting heavy 177 pellets.
I was told that on the low pressure spring kit if you are turning it all the way up on the high-pressure regulator it doesn’t allow the piston to move in and out properly closing off the pressure directly from the tank. Which means when I was trying to fill it up to 4200 psi that full 4200 psi was making it past the regulator and trying to pressurize the entire gun to that….
That’s why I popped my safety valve disc.
So the solution for that is Skout is sending me the high-pressure spring kit, which is considered an upgrade to the high-pressure regulator. So once that’s installed, I have a lot more adjustment for heavier, slugs.

Hope that made sense to everybody
