Skout Everything Skout EVO and Epoch

My question is very simple:

My fill-whips have a BSP Female Thread x Female QD. The EVO has a male QD on the rifle. My fill-whips seem loose on the EVO connector, so I asked for the compatible part made by the same manufacturer that they use to make it fit exact.

They show a BSP Male x Female QD on the "Skout Shop" website, but no BSP Female x Female QD. Likely where the confusion is (?).

So, the real question is: Which manufacturer makes the QD parts for the Skout line so that I can get the EXACT same size to fix the looseness?

I have, BTW, already installed brand new O-Rings in all of the fill-whips to see if that helped, it didn't.

I have used this one and it works well

Well guys it’s been a couple weeks, but I’m reporting back on my solenoid fault error that I was getting on start up with my gun.
From what I understand from talking to their Tech Support it looks like it was a faulty solenoid circuit. So they’re just replacing that for me and should have it back up and running this week. 🙏

As usual, it’s always a pleasure to deal with the people over at Scout.
thanks for the feedback

The Male foster fitting on the Skout is made and not purchased from a manufacture. it is within the standardized specifications for the fill nipples. The complaint we have gotten previously is that our fill nipples are sometimes tight in the female connectors. Since this seems like it could be a little off, are you able to measure the outer diameter of your fill Nipple to make sure it is within spec? If it isn’t we would be glad to send you a replacement for free. As for the customer service I am sorry this is the experience you had and it doesn’t represent the service we strive to provide. If you don’t have access to calipers to measure I’ll gladly measure one today to ensure it is the right size and send a new one out.

Thanks! Yes, it's one of the parts I make for other guns and sell on a UK air rifle forum.

I will get a measurement tomorrow and let you know.

Thanks so much for the concern and attention, and finally a definitive answer, it has been frustrating.

What was wrong with your gun?
It was giving me an error on startup that said solenoid circuit fault.
Ended up being a bad solenoid I believe so they just replaced it.
it’s actually something fairly easy to replace if it wasn’t under warranty. But since it was under warranty, they had me ship it back so they could repair it.

Where would you aquire a solenoid for replacement if out of warranty .. other than Skout??

Just call them and talk to Darryl
(724) 879-5204

always friendly and helpful and always answers my questions.

I don’t bother emailing them. It’s easy just to call. Makes it quick and simple
Boy this is the first I have heard of bad customer service. I have both emailed and called and always a quick response - including a conversation I had with him this morning. Ask for Darryl as he is extremely helpful and responsive.

Well I will be seeing a pretty consistent string of say 784fps give or take and then out of the blue I will get a random 752fps or less, so I will see a max spread of 32fps but a STD deviation of just4.4 now they are not just pellet weight as my other guns don't see that from the same batch so it got to be the gun and I will see this maybe 5 time out of 100 shots sometimes more sometimes less.
Hi, I am curious if your speeds come back up after the drop? does it come back and then drop and keep dropping?

I have discovered two things since then, one is that I improved the variation by making a reducer that goes between the valve seat and the barrel transfer port, and secondly I no longer trust the FX chrono that I was using as since the last update it throws random usually high readings with all my guns (it was fine before the update).

How does that works ? 😳

I was having problems with consistency aside from the FX problem and was seeing 20fps + even from my LMBR chrono which is always good so started looking for possible reasons and the fact that after the airflow leaving the small valve seat (sub 12 .177) It's allowed to expand into a 9mm x 13mm space before being re squeezed into the STD transfer port which is although large for sub 12 standards is 6mm x 4mm so my thought where that this is not desirable to have the airflow expanded and recompressed so set about making an insert that just carried on with similar diameters from the valve seat to the TP, and it worked the consistency reduced down to under 10fps.

The std setup is fine for you guys with unlimited power and large calibres, but when stifled for the sub 12 market it's not ideal.

Sub 12 .177 TP

So I shoot the .177 but I’m not limited in power like you are. Where are you fitting that reducer at.
im getting quite accurate shots but im curious what that reducer would do to a non sub 12 gun.
My extreme spread over 30 shots is 9.6 which I have felt was very good .
care to share more about the reducers ?
