Skout Everything Skout EVO and Epoch

Unfortunately...Yes
First of all thank you for wizening me up to the barrel fouling issue with the JTS pellets.
After my range session today i have discovered that if i start with a clean barrel and use dry lube on the pellets ( i use WD40 PTFE spray), it takes about 15-20 shots for the accuracy return. After that i get about 70-80 shots before the odd flyer starts to creep in again.
I have ordered JB polishing products from the US as they are not easy to find here.
Once i receive them I will hit you up again for some instructions , if you don't mind, for the polishing process.
I am curious as to what numbers you get with your setup??
Thank you again.

For a polishing process, here is what i do;
Start by havinvg the barrel cleaned out
Always polish from the breach to the muzzle ..you do not want the mop to exit muzzle..close as you can
Divide the length of the barrel into 1/3
Using the JB bore paste on a cotton mop, I will do 150 strokes on the first 1/3 of the barrel...refreshing the paste after 50
Next, I do 150 strokes down 2/3 the length of the barrel...refreshing after 50
Then 150 strokes down the full length of the barrel WITHOUT exiting the muzzle
Clean out the barrel of any remaining paste left behind
Change mops and repeat with Bore Bright

Custom Profile, JTS .22 dead center

Weather: 76.2°F 11.5 mph clear sky 1011hPa/mbar 29.85inHg 61%

Shot count: 31

Low: 962 FPS
Hi: 982 FPS
Avg: 973 FPS
Spread: 20 FPS
STD Dev: 5.2 FPS

Hope this helps
Mike

Thank you for all the info again.
I see you are using the same polishing method as someone I watched on youtube.
After all the tuning that I have done to the Evo, I get a very a stable speed at 981-982 all day if the temperature does not increase drastically.
After the barrel polishing will the number of (flyer free) shots increase by a significant amount?
Do you polish your barrel after every range session or sporadically??
Sorry for all the questions, I am the only person trying to do br with an air rifle where I live, so my research is limited to this forum.
Thank you again and keep shooting great!

WOW! that's a lot of polishing, I normally polish with Slovol Autosol and mop going full length and no more than 50-100 strokes, works very well on my barrels, the only barrel it didn't work well on was the STD Skout alloy type barrels, but mine was pretty rubbish anyway, I would be wary of over polishing and rounding the edges of the rifling groves.

I did have less flyers after the process
I usually only do the polish 1 time, but i do clean after each session...it's a pain to do, but i do get results
Let me know how it works for you
