Everything is out of stock!

I'm new to airgunning in general and so maybe this is typical but it seems to me that there is a real stock issue at the retailers. Recently, I bought a pt-85 just for plinking and really enjoyed it. This quickly turned into a need to get a rifle. Not wanting to break the bank I got a m-rod sam, which I really like. Now I'm looking into a pistol again - this time with no blowback, adjustable trigger rifled barrel etc... Right?

Well, the problem is when you look at say Beeman or Diana etc... they are all out of stock. So I wonder, is this a covid supply issue you think?

On another note, I would love some reccomendations on the pistol. I am not looking for a 1000+ competition pistol but something accurate with the above stuff

* No blowback
* Adjustable trigger
*rifled barrel (lothar walther?)
* pcp preferred but not a deal breaker
* 600 to 700 budget

This will be used just for target practice and probably some plinking.

Yup, the China virus really screwed things up in the supply chain. Not enough people werqing unloading the ships and not enough truckers hauling the stuff around. I never would have thought anything like this could ever happen.

I have been impatiently waiting for my Impact for, coming up on, six months now. Haven't been shooting much lately so, I do at least, have somewhat of a pellet stash. So when the M3 finally gets here I will be able to shoot it for awhile in the crummy weather anyway. What a mess it is.

I wish you luck in your journey to find the right gun or any gun for that matter.

EDIT;

Found this in the classifieds it is a single shot though.

I bought a 1701 silhouette and liked it so much I then bought a 1720. They are both great pistols. The 1720 is a little better for pesting but it is longer. There are all kinds of accessory's for them. I have shot them with scopes and red dots. Hope to have helped

Have those guns too and they are simply superb!!! Dead nuts accurate! My 1720 with ar stock is a squirrel headshot specialist while my 1701 is a house sparrows worst nightmare!

have the PP700 and also very good! Can’t match the LW barrels in accuracy though.

This leads to a problem finding guns in the used market as well, if folks are anything like me.

I've got some nice guns which, when I don't find myself shooting them real often, I tend to put up for sale in the AGN classifieds.

But if I ever want one again, when and where will I be able to find it, and at what new increased price?

Holding onto stuff now until if and when supply issues are ever resolved. Maybe that will happen. But prices ever going back down again? Not bloody likely.

There are more than 20 container ships sitting off the Savannah port, waiting to dock and unload. And in CA, 76 ships are backed up off LA and Long Beach. So, roughly 100 huge container ships sitting there. Imagine that amount of product, with more backed up every day. I don't know anything about the logistics of that type of supply chain management, but I expect that European and Asian suppliers are now keeping products at home, rather than adding to the shipping log jam. All of which seems to suggest that we have a long way to go before inventories approach pre-pandemic levels.

Add to the the cost of containers. I heard on the news that containers used to be around 1500 to use and now the costs have soared to 30,000. That 30K is not a typo! So costs are a lot higher which causes many small companies to hold inventory in the hopes that costs come down. Crazy world we live in. Guess I should be happy with what I have been able to get so far.

I wonder if some of the companies may go direct to consumer to get around the importing and inventorying to places like PyramidAir.

We’re seeing a society slip into chaos, shipping is just one of the many signs of a struggling economy/society, we’re seeing many of the other signs in our everyday lives also. If people weren’t being paid to stay at home maybe we wouldn’t be dealing with this. Buy what you need as often as you can!

No situation is so bad that government intervention cannot make it worse

It really is getting ridiculous. I want a new PCP rifle, but nothing I’m interested in is in stock. I am trying to buy a new guitar, once again nothing I want is in stock. My motorcycle was backed over by a truck in a parking lot and I want a new one, nothing in stock that I want. My mothers lease on her car ends in November, can’t find her a car she wants.

Was shooting the breeze with my ups delivery guy yesterday. Let’s call ups the “downhill” of deliveries, and the containers awaiting at the docks and even before that the uphill side of things-

yeah, just yesterday he was venting to me how just his branch alone, was struggling to get any help. His management asked employees to help them recruit as no one is coming in to apply for the help needed ads put out. The few that do come in, quit right away because the work is too hard for what they get paid. They are too stupid to realize that they actually make more that their GTW in benefits and pension plans set aside.

staying at home and collecting unemployment with unlimited(it seems) extensions coupled with stimulus $$ has spoiled many, and now the thought patterns is to try and avoid working if possible, or just settle for living below your comfort level just to avoid work.

so, this is at the downhill. Probably happening on the uphill side of things, too. You think maybe the docks are having trouble finding help in unloading the ships? How many employees for these airgun manufacturers and vendors opted not to come back to work? How many employees for JSB decided to just stay home and collect from the government instead of clocking back in at the factory?

my niece and her husband both got recently promoted to management positions, within two weeks of getting hired!! Tell me their employees aren’t having trouble finding help so a quick bump in pay and position isn’t a way of trying to get them to stay?

For the smart ones, I see big opportunities. Feel sorry for the lazy ones

Yep, watching the news each day is quite dissapointing!! You have heard the theroy about feeding bears in the wild....dont as they become used to the handouts and stop hunting for themselves!!!! Yessir, our govt is doing the same thing to there people!!! We have fed our citizens so many handouts that no one wants to work, and those that do showup dont work very hard as they know there is no one to replace them !! It will get even worse if this monster handout passes, anyone willing to work will be even more scarce!! If you think prices are going up fast now, just wait !!!
